Job Description Summary: Uses SolidWorks (3D Design Software) to design parts per external engineering specifications, as well as internal requests. Manufacturing drawings are comprised from the 3D drawings for use on the production floor. Sets up new parts within MRP software and evaluates current product line for improvements or additions to existing lines. Deals directly with customers during the design and estimating phases of custom production, which includes using a company vehicle to make site visits. Takes direction on priority from the design and estimating supervisor when needed. Inspects quality of work on custom projects and makes certain that the custom projects are built correctly when necessary. Responsibilities: • Reads and reviews publications and consults with engineering, marketing, production, and sales representatives to establish product lines • Perform engineering duties in planning and designing tools, machines, and other mechanically functioning equipment and products. • Reviews data from concept design layout to determine material, labor, equipment, certification and other project requirements and prepare itemized estimate lists • Evaluates design ideas based on factors such as appealing appearance, design-function relationships, service ability, materials and methods engineering, application, budget, price, estimate, production costs, methods of production, market characteristics, and client specifications • Coordinate with vendors on special products and pricing for estimates in a timely manner, • Oversee installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of tooling and applicable machinery, • Documents specific information for decision making regarding estimates in order to facilitate review by other personnel for quality assurance and pricing of estimate • Integrates findings and concepts and sketches design ideas, • Applies algebraic and geometric formulas and standard tool engineering data to develop tool configuration and new products as well as improving existing products • Prepares illustrations to be used by multiple departments for sales/marketing, production, and field construction. • Creates new part numbers within MRP system and communicates with product coordinator/outside engineering firms/customers to ensure compliance of the product line. • Prepares or coordinates preparation of working drawings from sketches and design specifications, • Designs products for custom applications., • Check/Review drawings, • Estimate custom designs from customers, • Support allG Sales with technical needs. Requirements: • Pass a criminal background check & drug screen, • Valid Driver’s license and clear MVR, • 1-2 years of experience using AutoCAD and Solid Works design software preferred, • Experience in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word & Excel), • 1-2 years manufacturing experience required, • Sheet metal experience preferred, • Possess excellent communication skills (oral and written), • Ability to multi-task, • Detailed oriented Job Type: Full Time Pay: $19 - 22.00 per hour Benefits: • 401(k), • Dental insurance, • Employee assistance program, • Health Insurance, • Life Insurance, • Paid time off, • Referral program, • 8 hour shift
