Job Description ***Must have at least 3-5+ years of RN Med Surg experience and at least 1-2+ years of manager/supervisory experinece - Hospital experience required Nurse Manager duties: • Supervise daily unit operations and ensure adequate staffing for coverage., • Serve as a clinical and administrative leader to inpatient care unit(s)., • Coordinate interdisciplinary care planning to support optimal outcomes for critically ill patients on the inpatient care unit(s)., • Ensure delivery of evidence-based, high-quality care in accordance with hospital policies and professional standards., • Support implementation of current evidence-based practice initiatives including but not limited to sepsis protocols, rapid response systems, advanced cardiovascular life support, and critical care protocols, processes, and policies., • Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and provide expert guidance in complex cases., • Conducts leadership rounding with staff and patients., • Ensure unit compliance with Joint Commission standards, CMS Conditions of Participation, and New Jersey Department of Health licensing requirements., • Monitor and improve performance metrics including but not limited to: CLABSI, CAUTI, VAE, mortality, palliative and hospice, and length of stay., • Participate incident investigations, root cause analyses, and plan of correction development., • Facilitates critical care meetings to drive key performance indicators and outcomes., • Hire, mentor, evaluate, and develop nursing staff., • Provide or arrange for ongoing staff education and competency validation., • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement. Minimum Education/Certification: • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required., • Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN), Healthcare Administration, or a related field preferred. Licensure/Certification: • Active New Jersey RN license in good standing., • BLS, ACLS certifications required. Minimum Work Experience: • At least 2 to 5+ years as a a Registered Nurse in Acute Care: Medical Surgical, Telemetry or Critical Care (ED/ICU), • Minimum of 1 to 2 years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare (i.e. preceptor, charge nurse, clinical coordinator or assistant nurse manager roles) Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: • Strong knowledge of critical care nursing principles, patient safety, and infection control., • Proven ability to lead teams, manage conflict, and make clinical and operational decisions., • Excellent communication, organization, and analytical skills., • Proficient with EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner) and clinical quality reporting tools., • Knowledge of fiscal planning, analysis, and management principles, • Ability to communicate effectively to a variety of audiences in small and large group settings, • Ability to exercise a high degree of initiative, sound judgement, discretion, and decision-making skills., • Ability to solve management issues and direct numerous and varied operations simultaneously., • Ability to set and maintain high standards of performance, hold people accountable for achieving deliverable metrics, encourage team participation, and motivate others through a shared vision. Working Conditions: • Fast-paced, high-acuity environment., • On-call responsibilities may be required for emergencies.
