Job Description We are seeking an experienced Automotive Repair Estimator / Damage Appraiser to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of auto body, structural, and general automotive repair to properly assess damage and prepare accurate repair estimates. This role works closely with the shop owner, technicians, insurance adjusters, and customers to ensure the repair process runs smoothly and efficiently while delivering a high level of customer satisfaction. Our shop performs a wide range of services including collision repair, frame and structural work, dent and scratch removal, paint matching and refinishing, and general automotive repair. Responsibilities • Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to assess collision, structural, cosmetic, and mechanical damage, • Perform initial customer walkarounds and document all visible damage and concerns, • Prepare accurate and detailed estimates including parts, labor, and additional services using CCC ONE, OE Procedures, or similar software, • Communicate with insurance adjusters to explain estimates, submit supplements, and negotiate repairs throughout the entire repair process, • Communicate clearly with customers regarding repair process, costs, timelines, and expectations, • Identify and document additional or hidden damage and update estimates as needed, • Upsell additional services or repairs based on vehicle condition and customer needs, • Work closely with technicians and staff to ensure all repairs are properly accounted for and completed on time, • Order parts and coordinate with vendors to ensure correct pricing and availability, • Monitor repair progress and provide updates to customers as needed, • Maintain accurate records of estimates, repairs, billing, and customer interactions, • Provide exceptional customer service by addressing questions, concerns, and issues in a professional manner, • Previous experience in automotive or collision estimating, • Experience negotiating with insurance companies and handling claims throughout the repair process, • Proficiency with CCC ONE and OE Procedures estimating software, • Strong understanding of vehicle repair processes including body, structural, refinishing, and general mechanical work, • Strong attention to detail and ability to write accurate estimates, • Excellent communication and customer service skills, • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple estimates at once, • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and professionalism, • Appraisal License (preferred but not required), • I-CAR certification or other industry training (preferred but not required), • Experience with frame and structural repair estimating, • Compensation based on experience, • Paid holidays, sick time, and vacation (after probation period), • Monday through Friday: 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM, • Saturday: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PMCompany DescriptionIn business for over 30 years with a reputation for quality work and excellent customer service.
