Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: Pediatrics PACU - Post Anesthetic Care, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 01/05/2026, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 37.5 hours per week, • Shift: 8 hours, days, evenings, nights, • Employment Type: Travel JOB DETAILS Title: Pediatric PACU Location: Bronx, NY 10467 • Unit: Pediatric PACU, • Shift: Evenings (8-hour shifts), • Duration: 13 Weeks, • Start Date: 01/19/2025, • Guaranteed Hours: 37.5 per week, • Charting System: EPIC ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Provide direct nursing care to pediatric patients in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)., • Assess patients upon admission to the unit, monitoring vital signs, pain levels, and airway management., • Administer prescribed medications and treatments per physician orders and protocols., • Recognize and respond promptly to signs of complications or adverse reactions related to anesthesia or surgery., • Collaborate closely with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and other members of the healthcare team to ensure safe and effective patient care., • Provide emotional support and education to patients and families regarding the recovery process., • Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough documentation in the EPIC electronic health record system., • Participate in ongoing quality improvement and patient safety initiatives within the department.SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS, • Strong pediatric assessment and critical thinking skills., • Ability to respond rapidly in emergency situations., • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for family-centered care., • Proficiency in EPIC charting system preferred., • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced acute care environment.REQUIREMENTS, • Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN not required)., • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of recent PACU or pediatric critical care experience., • Licensure: Active RN license in the state of New York.
