OMNTEC is now seeking a Sales Operations Manager to build and lead the commercial operating system across the OMNTEC, VMI, and Tank Active brands. This is a hands-on sales leadership role for a commercially minded operator who excels at creating process, enforcing discipline, improving visibility, and driving performance across our direct sales staff, independent manufacturers’ representatives, and our distributors. The portfolio includes automatic tank gauging (PROTEUS ATG), leak detection, sensors, line leak detection, overfill protection, and remote tank monitoring/compliance software. This role focuses primarily on sales operations, inside sales leadership, and channel performance management. It is not initially a quota-carrying territory sales position. The immediate priority is to establish structure, accountability, reporting discipline, and scalable processes. Over time, the role may evolve to include limited territory ownership, but early success will be measured by process implementation, KPI visibility, sales execution, and improved rep/distributor performance. This is the right opportunity for someone who enjoys building the system and driving adoption, not just reporting on it. Key Responsibilities • Build and standardize sales processes across lead handling, quoting, follow-up, forecasting, pipeline stages, and opportunity management., • Own CRM adoption and reporting discipline in HubSpot, including dashboard creation, data quality, pipeline hygiene, and KPI scorecards., • Establish KPI frameworks for direct sales employees, outside reps, distributors, product lines, brands, and regions., • Track and manage key commercial metrics: revenue, gross margin, quote-to-order conversion, win rate, pipeline coverage, forecast accuracy, rep activity, distributor growth, and follow-up compliance., • Lead weekly meetings with direct sales staff, monthly performance reviews with independent rep firms, and quarterly business reviews with distributors., • Manage, coach, and develop direct sales and sales-support staff while holding channel partners accountable through scorecards, action plans, and consistent follow-up., • Design and recommend commission structures for direct sales employees and outside reps (subject to CEO approval and legal/commercial review)., • Develop distributor qualification standards and discount-tier criteria based on revenue, growth, technical capability, training completion, account penetration, and stocking commitment., • Recommend corrective actions for underperforming salespeople, rep firms, and distributors., • Create high-impact sales tools and content, including product presentations, distributor pitch decks, executive business reviews, rep onboarding materials, and proposal templates., • Partner with leadership to refine channel strategy across OMNTEC, VMI, and TankActive. In the first 90 days • Map the current sales process and identify major gaps., • Launch an effective go to market sales process and KPI framework., • Establish weekly direct-sales meeting cadence with scorecards and follow-up actions., • Improve baseline CRM usage and data discipline in HubSpot., • Deliver useful dashboards and reporting that give leadership clear insight into performance across direct staff, rep firms, and distributors., • Implement stronger process discipline in quoting, follow-up, pipeline management, and forecasting., • Roll out a more robust incentive framework for direct sales and outside reps., • Launch formal rep review cadence and distributor evaluation criteria., • Provide leadership with clear commercial visibility to measure growth, prioritize opportunities, and spot market trends., • Establish repeatable sales operating rhythms across direct staff, reps, and distributors., • Drive improved performance and effectiveness through KPI-driven management., • 5+ years of experience in sales operations, inside sales leadership, commercial management, or a related sales leadership role., • Proven ability to build sales processes, reporting systems, and KPI discipline from the ground up., • Experience in industrial, technical, or B2B manufacturing environments., • Experience managing or performance-managing direct sales teams, independent rep firms, and/or distributor networks., • Demonstrated success designing compensation plans, incentive structures, scorecards, or channel performance programs., • Strong working knowledge of CRM systems (HubSpot experience preferred)., • Comfort working with technical products and adapting communications for both technical and non-technical audiences., • Strong analytical, organizational, and follow-through skills., • Calm, fact-based, self-starting leadership style with the ability to drive change in an established organization., • Direct experience with channel sales, distributor management, and independent manufacturers’ representatives., • Experience creating dashboards, sales presentations, proposal templates, and executive business reviews., • Exposure to ERP/reporting environments such as Sage 50 or similar systems., • Onsite role based at OMNTEC headquarters in Ronkonkoma, Long Island, New York., • Some travel expected for rep, distributor, and customer-facing meetings as the role develops., • Reports directly to the CEO. OMNTEC develops advanced tank monitoring and leak detection systems, highlighted by the PROTEUS series of automatic tank gauges (ATG) and sensor-based monitoring solutions. VMI manufactures mechanical and electronic line leak detection, overfill protection, safety-port, and related equipment. TankActive provides remote fuel tank monitoring and compliance software with real-time dashboards, alerts, analytics, and seamless integration with OMNTEC PROTEUS and other ATG systems.
