The ideal candidate is a seasoned chef with a background in multi-unit kitchen management. You will help to oversee all venue based culinary operations. Including cafes and restaurants and onsite catering operations. You will be responsible for costs, quality control, mentoring and training, as well as recruiting and managing chefs across all venue operations. You will be working closely with onsite management to ensure the culinary needs of the unit are met. Responsibilities · Lead, manage and mentor all venue culinary management. · Uphold and teach high quality standards throughout the kitchens. · Ensure the maintenance, sanitation, and food safety of the kitchen by collaborating with the onsite team and coordination with a third-party Department of Health (DOH) consultant. · Collaborate with each location to supervise production, and implement waste reduction strategies. · Collaborate with Human Resources department to assist in employee relations, and disciplinary processes. · Track and follow up on equipment maintenance and repairs. · Supervise and lead culinary staff across multiple locations, ensuring consistent quality and adherence to GP standards. · Foster a positive and collaborative work environment. Qualifications · 8 years culinary experience (preferred) · Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate kitchen staff. · Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with various departments and stakeholders. · Ability to identify and address issues promptly and effectively. · Flexibility to adapt to changing industry trends and organizational needs. Job Description The mission of Jazz at Lincoln Center, Inc. (“JALC”) is to entertain, enrich and expand a global community for jazz through performance, education, and advocacy. From college students to young stars, from working professionals to celebrated masters, we present quality jazz for an ever-increasing audience in an unprecedented range of activities and a variety of venues. We are dedicated to lifting audiences and bringing people together with substance and with integrity. JALC has created a dynamic platform where our key constituents – jazz artists (beginner to grizzled veteran), fans (casual listeners to advanced scholars), educators (local band leaders to leading artist-educators) and advocates (local community advocates to important national promoters) – can meet, engage, learn, and work towards common objectives. The Assistant Director, Events is responsible for leading and managing a portfolio of events in Frederick P. Rose Hall, Dizzy’s Club, private residences, and other venues in support of the Jazz at Lincoln Center Development team. Management includes internal and external communications, drafting and sending invitations, tracking RSVPs, and updating donor records. They are responsible for planning and executing cultivation events in close coordination with multiple stakeholders across the organization. The Assistant Director also works closely with and supports the Director of Events on the annual Gala and other major cultivation events. They interact directly with Jazz at Lincoln Center senior leadership, members of the Board of Directors, and other important donors.
