Job Description Pfister Energy is a vertically integrated solar and energy storage EPC contractor building commercial and industrial rooftop, carport, and ground-mount projects across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic. We are hiring a Truck Driver / Shop Manager to run our shop and yard and keep our field crews supplied. The role is split between driving — hauling modules, racking, conduit, wire, tools, and equipment between our Hawthorne facility, vendors, and active job sites — and managing the shop: inventory, tool and equipment maintenance, staging material for upcoming jobs, and keeping the yard safe and organized. Key Responsibilities: • Operate company trucks and trailers to deliver material, tools, and equipment to job sites across NJ, NY, PA, MD, and DE, • Load and secure loads per DOT requirements; complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections, • Receive inbound freight, verify against packing slips and POs, and report damage or shortages same-day, • Operate forklift, telehandler, and pallet jack for material handling, • Own the organization, cleanliness, and safety of the shop and yard, • Maintain tool and material inventory; manage tool check-in/check-out, • Stage and kit material and tools by job number ahead of every mobilization, • Keep tools, small equipment, and the fleet on a preventive-maintenance schedule; coordinate outside repairs, • Manage rental equipment pickup, condition documentation, and on-time return, • Recover tools and surplus material from completed sites; manage waste disposal and recycling, • Maintain PPE and safety stock; remove expired or damaged fall-protection gear from service, • Coordinate daily with Construction Managers, foremen, and Procurement on priorities and shortages Required Qualifications: • Valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle record, • CDL Class B (Class A preferred), or ability to obtain a CDL with company support, • 3+ years of commercial driving and/or construction shop, warehouse, or yard experience, • Working knowledge of load securement and DOT inspection requirements, • Forklift and/or telehandler experience; OSHA 10 (OSHA 30 preferred), • Comfortable with email, photos, and app-based inventory tracking on a phone or tablet, • Organized and self-directed; able to run the shop without daily supervision, • Able to lift 50+ lbs repeatedly and work outdoors in all seasons, • Authorized to work in the U.S.; able to pass a background check and drug screen Preferred Qualifications: • Solar, electrical, roofing, or mechanical construction material experience, • Familiarity with modules, racking, attachments, inverters, wire, and conduit, • Prior tool crib, inventory control, or fleet maintenance ownership, • Procore or similar construction management software experience, • Clean towing experience with tandem or gooseneck trailers, • Bilingual English/Spanish Compensation & Benefits: • Competitive hourly wage based on experience and CDL class, plus overtime., • Employee Referral Bonuses, • Matching 401(k), • Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance, • Health Reimbursement Account, • Life, AD&D, Accident, Disability, and Critical Illness Insurance, • Employee Discount Program, • Paid Time Off and Paid Holidays, • Company-provided tools, PPE, uniforms, and phone/tablet, • CDL and certification training support Schedule: Monday–Friday, typical 7:00 AM start. Occasional early starts, overtime, and weekend work based on project schedules. Work environment: Shop and yard, over-the-road driving, and active construction sites including commercial rooftops and ground-mount fields.
