Job DescriptionJob Title: RME Senior Mechanical & Robotics Technician (Maintenance Technician III) Job Description This role serves as a Senior maintenance technician responsible for leading a team of service technicians in the installation, repair, and optimization of automated packaging and distribution equipment. You will design practical solutions for complex technical problems, oversee maintenance projects, and ensure the reliability and safety of material handling equipment and automated conveyor systems. The position combines hands-on electro-mechanical work with troubleshooting, diagnostics, and continuous improvement of industrial automation systems. Responsibilities • Lead a team of service technicians in the installation, maintenance, and repair of automated packaging and distribution equipment., • Plan, coordinate, and execute maintenance projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, and to the required quality standards., • Conduct advanced troubleshooting and diagnostics on material handling equipment (MHE) and automated conveyor systems to identify root causes of failures., • Perform complex electro-mechanical repairs, including electrical maintenance and mechanical adjustments, to restore equipment to full functionality., • Develop and implement solutions for difficult technical problems, focusing on improving equipment reliability and performance., • Carry out quality predictive and preventative maintenance procedures to minimize unplanned downtime and extend equipment life., • Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical documentation to guide installation, repair, and modification work., • Apply electrical and electronic principles to diagnose and correct issues in control systems, sensors, actuators, and related components., • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and associated control systems on conveyor and MHE equipment., • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with MHE safety standards, OEM guidelines, and applicable safety regulations., • Use a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to document work orders, track maintenance activities, and update equipment records., • Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to prioritize work, minimize disruption to production, and support continuous improvement initiatives., • Utilize Microsoft Office applications to prepare reports, track metrics, and communicate maintenance plans and project updates., • Support training and mentoring of junior technicians by sharing technical knowledge, best practices, and safety procedures.Essential Skills, • High school diploma or equivalent., • At least 1 year of experience using Microsoft Office products and applications., • At least 4 years of experience conducting quality predictive and preventative maintenance procedures in an industrial environment., • At least 4 years of experience in the repair of material handling equipment (MHE) or automated conveyor systems and controls., • At least 4 years of experience reading and interpreting blueprints and electrical schematics., • At least 4 years of knowledge and hands-on experience with electrical and electronic principles., • At least 3 years of experience troubleshooting and diagnosing MHE systems., • At least 4 years of experience working with MHE safety standards in accordance with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and safety standards., • At least 3 years of experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)., • Strong industrial maintenance and equipment maintenance skills, including electro-mechanical troubleshooting and electrical maintenance., • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair conveyor systems and perform PLC troubleshooting., • Ability to lead and guide other technicians in a fast-paced, automated environment.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience working with automated packaging and distribution equipment., • Background in electro-mechanical systems within an industrial or logistics environment., • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to design and implement solutions for complex technical issues., • Effective communication skills for coordinating with operations teams and documenting work., • Organizational skills to manage multiple maintenance tasks and projects simultaneously., • Comfort working with CMMS tools for planning, tracking, and reporting maintenance activities.Why Work Here? The environment is fast-paced and operations-focused, requiring flexibility to support equipment during operational hours, which may include varying shifts, extended hours, or weekends depending on business needs. Work involves regular use of a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and Microsoft Office applications for planning and documentation, as well as hands-on interaction with conveyors, PLC-controlled systems, and other automated equipment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Edison, NJ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $42.65 - $42.65/hr.
