Job Overview The Director, Editorial Partnerships will lead editorial relationships and content partnerships across Formedics while serving as the editorial lead for the Business of Medicine franchise. This role will oversee editorial planning for roundtable video programming and live events, develop and manage relationships with key opinion leaders, and lead a team supporting partnership, video, and event content. The ideal candidate is a strategic, highly organized, relationship-driven editor with strong medical and scientific judgment who can manage multiple priorities, build trusted relationships with external partners and physician experts, and move seamlessly between editorial strategy and execution. Key Responsibilities Editorial Partnerships • Lead editorial relationships with societies, publishers, physician partners, and other external stakeholders while overseeing partnership content from planning through delivery and ensuring quality, accuracy, compliance, and alignment with editorial and business objectives. KOL Recruitment & Relationship Management • Build and maintain a strong network of key opinion leaders, physician faculty, editorial contributors, and subject-matter experts across priority therapeutic areas, matching experts to appropriate editorial, partnership, video, and event opportunities. Roundtable & Video Programming • Own the editorial direction of roundtable and expert video programming, including topic development, panelist recruitment, discussion guides, editorial review, and collaboration with production teams through final delivery. Live Events • Lead editorial planning for Formedics live events, including agenda and session development, faculty recommendations, moderator and speaker preparation, and development of content that extends the impact of events beyond the live experience. Business of Medicine • Serve as the editorial lead for the Business of Medicine franchise, shaping its editorial direction, content strategy, contributor relationships, and ongoing programming. Team Leadership & Budget • Lead, mentor, and develop an editorial team while managing freelance and external resources, supporting hiring and resource planning, and overseeing the editorial budget for partnership and live event content initiatives. Cross-Functional Collaboration • Partner closely with Editorial, Peer-to-Peer, Live Events, Commercial, Marketing, Audience, Product, and other teams to align editorial priorities with broader company goals and deliver high-quality content and experiences. What Success Looks Like Success in this role will be demonstrated by: • Strong, trusted relationships with editorial partners, physician experts, and other external stakeholders., • Partnership, video, and event programs that are delivered on time and to a high editorial standard., • Clinically credible and engaging roundtable, Business of Medicine, and live event programming., • A strong and continually developing network of KOLs and physician contributors., • Consistent editorial quality, accuracy, and compliance across Formedics content and programming., • A well-managed editorial team with clear priorities, strong collaboration, and opportunities for growth., • Effective management of editorial resources and budget in support of company priorities. Qualifications & Experience • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, Communications, English, Medicine, Public Health, or a related field preferred., • 8+ years of experience in medical journalism, editing, publishing, or healthcare content, including 2+ years in an editorial management role., • Demonstrated experience managing external relationships with societies, publishers, sponsors, physician experts, or content partners., • Experience developing editorial content and programming for live or virtual events., • Experience recruiting and managing relationships with KOLs, editorial board members, physician faculty, or subject-matter experts., • Experience directing video content, including panel discussions, expert interviews, or similar formats., • Experience managing multiple concurrent projects and deadlines, with direct people-management experience required., • Experience managing an editorial budget and external/freelance resources., • Strong writing, editing, factchecking, and research skills; AP, AMA, or scientific writing experience preferred., • Strong understanding of medical and scientific terminology and the ability to interpret and communicate complex medical information., • Familiarity with digital publishing, content management systems, SEO, social media, and multimedia content workflows., • Willingness to travel periodically for medical conferences, live events, and other company activities. This range represents the base salary we reasonably expect to pay for this position at the time of posting. Compensation for this role is determined based on several factors, including relevant experience, skills, geographic location, budget and company pay rates. This role may also be eligible for bonus or incentive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package, subject to eligibility.
