Job Description JOB DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE: Lead Youth Counselor, Dayspring Youth Services FLSA: Non-Exempt DEPARTMENT: Community Services REPORTS TO: Program Director, Dayspring Youth Services LOCATION: Yonkers, NY SALARY: $18.00 to $20.00 (hourly) SUMMARY: The Lead Youth Counselor supports the Program Director in administrative tasks and duties assigned by the Program Director. The Lead Youth Counselor will deliver a range of academic, enrichment, recreational, and leadership development programming to participating youth through a Positive Youth Development context that fosters growth and learning, maximizes safety, and instills hope and motivation. Proof of Covid-19 Vaccinations required. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Supports the Program Director, Dayspring Youth Services in clerical administration functions of the Dayspring After School Program including filing, data collection, and logistics., • Provides support and guidance to Dayspring Youth Counselors during program hours, • Supports the scheduling and implementation of weekly planned youth services activities including the development of academic, enrichment, and recreational program components., • Responsible for the wellbeing of a group of participating youth (5-12 years) throughout program hours. Ensures the safety of all participants throughout program implementation., • Provides academic instruction that supports the school day curriculum of participating youth through curricula focusing on literacy and STEM, • Leads a range of enrichment, recreation, and leadership development programs designed to increase self-esteem and teach important life skills., • Attends weekly team meetings, training sessions by OCFS and others, parent meetings, and other assigned meetings to market the program and report on outcomes., • Respond to emergency situations i.e fire drills, evacuation, shelter in place, lock downs, etc., • Escort children to various activities in the building and in the community if necessary, • Facilities maintenance i.e disinfect room, equipment, light cleaning etc., • Distribution of snacks and program supplies, i.e work books, technology, art supplies, • Other duties assigned as needed EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma/GED and at least two years of expertise in direct after school program delivery required College diploma preferred. High energy, dynamic personality, and genuine passion for youth needed. Ability to lift, push, or pull 50 lbs. as needed. Program hours include weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Job Description JOB DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE: Program Assistant (Westchester County) FLSA: Non-Exempt DEPARTMENT: Employment Services REPORTS TO: Program Manager SALARY: $35,000.00 to $40,000.00 SUMMARY: Provides administrative support to the Employment Services division. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Greet and assist clients and visitors who enter the facility, • Perform administrative duties such as typing reports, letters/memos etc. Assist with the preparation of assigned reports, • Assist with the collection of monthly statistics, • Provide assistance with file maintenance, • Call clients to remind them of upcoming appointments with employment service staff, • Assist with ordering of office supplies and maintaining supply inventory, • Responsible for receiving/distribution of all mail, correspondence and supplies, • Answer phone calls and provide excellent customer service and provide program information, • Interact regularly with Westhab clients and perform outreach calls to existing clients, • May perform other duties as assigned EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Associates degree with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in an administrative position or equivalent; ability to use Microsoft Word for Windows, as well as knowledge of spreadsheets and database programs using Microsoft Excel. Excellent verbal, writing and organizational skills. Must be flexible to work some evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
