Job DescriptionThe Child Development Center's is seeking a Teacher Assistant who reports directly to the Executive Director of the Child Development Center and the Classroom Teacher. The TA is a full time, 10-month position, who works 8 hours per day and is responsible for assisting the teacher in the supervision of children as well as assisting with the planning and implementation of the curriculum. This is a full-time, grant-funded position. Example of Duties: • Assist in the implementation of the curriculum by engaging in classroom activities and encouraging participation by children., • Lead by example: Modeling positive behaviors for the volunteers and visitors in the classroom., • Assist teacher in actively engaging children and encouraging social/emotional, cognitive and physical growth and development., • Actively engage with children during all times of the day., • Maintain positive frequent communications with parent through informational discussions and progress reports., • Ensure all center policies, district, and state regulations are met., • Ensure NAEYC, Grow NJ Kids, ECERS, or other quality indicators are followed., • Maintain appropriate health, safety and cleanliness standards., • Encourage self help skills and good hygiene., • Assist teacher in maintaining accurate records, forms and files including assessments, progress reports and rating scales., • Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality., • Follows and adheres to policies and procedures state in the Staff Handbook and of Passaic County Community College., • Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field, or a CDA Certificate Compensation: Salary is determined by a variety of criteria, including but not limited to, previous relevant experience, education level, and certifications. The salary range for this position is $26,793 - $43,961.
