Job Description Senior Accountant Senior accountant will oversee key accounting functions and ensure the accuracy of financial reporting. This is a critical role reporting to the CFO in maintaining compliance with accounting standards, supporting audits and guiding junior staff. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage complex financial data. The organization is a national manufacturer that supplies to medical related end users such as hospitals and nursing homes or care facilities through large scale contracts. The company has been in business for over 75 years with a strong track record of success. Typical senior accountant duties: • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations and financial statements, • Lead month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes, • Analyze financial data and trends to support strategic decision making, • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies, • Assist with budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis, • Coordinate with external auditors and provide necessary documentation, • Support internal controls and recommend process improvements, • Mentor junior accounting staff and provide guidance on best practices Cost Accountant function for the role Assist the organization to manage and analyze the financial impact of production, operations and inventory. These professionals play a key role in budgeting, cost control and profitability analysis, supporting strategic decision making across manufacturing and service environments.
