Van Leeuwen Ice Cream is hiring a full time, Delivery Driver based out of the Bronx in New York. This role is temporary (90 days) to start but with the opportunity to transition to Full Time Regular status based on business needs and employee performance. This is a great opportunity for an experienced Driver to work closely with the growing team of Van Leeuwen Ice Cream as the company embarks on its next stage of growth. The ideal candidate is someone who is organized, excels in self-management, punctual, enjoys problem solving, and can thrive in a fast-paced environment (and loves ice cream!). JOB RESPONSIBILITIES • Pick up and deliver product at the start of each shift based on store needs/order sheets, • Organize delivery vehicle for maximum delivery optimization, • Deliver product to New York Retail stores and properly organize product in each location, • Maintain accurate order sheets, • Maintain a well-organized and tightly-run delivery schedule, • Make wholesale runs across the Tri-state area, • Drive safely while following all local motor-vehicle laws JOB REQUIREMENTS • Have excellent driving skills and experience driving large/box trucks (CDL a plus!), • Have a demonstrated ability to solve problems and work independently, • Be reliable, punctual, and trustworthy, • Have a great attitude and help maintain positive relationships with our vendors and their representatives, • Possess basic math skills so that you can efficiently resolve invoice discrepancies, • Be able to lift and carry 50+ pounds, • Has knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices, exceptionally high standards of cleanliness, • Valid license required Van Leeuwen Ice Cream is committed to pay transparency and equity among all employees and provides employees an environment where pay transparency and dialogue on compensation are allowed.
