Position Summary The primary functions of the Delivery Helper are to load, locate job sites, backing, preparing and restoring the job site, and preparing the truck for the following day and maintaining the truck and equipment. Duties & Responsibilities * Comply with company, state, and federal guidelines, particularly related to OSHA and DOT, to ensure the safety of all personnel * Perform pre-trip inspections of equipment, paperwork, and loaded product to ensure order accuracy * Safely unload product and deliver to assigned areas as directed by the customer * Secure mud, equipment, metal, and pallets on the truck * Navigate routes to assigned job sites Basic Qualifications * Ability to read, write, and communicate information accurately * Stamina to lift at least 75 lbs. to carry materials such as drywall materials and joint compound Core Competencies * Strive to do the right thing by displaying trust and integrity * Embody servant leadership principles by putting the needs of others first and valuing diverse perspectives * Demonstrated ability to work independently and on a team; ability to lead, execute, and/or delegate as needed while collaborating with others * Establish and maintain effective working relationships at every level of the organization * Champion an inclusive working environment by empowering others and valuing diverse backgrounds and experiences * Ability to self-manage, show initiative, be proactive, and drive results * Communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing, with coworkers and customers Physical Requirements * Must be able to remain standing approximately 90% of the time * Constantly move materials from commercial motor vehicles onto job sites * Constantly position self to unload and load materials from flatbed or boom * Frequently move materials weighing up to 100 lbs. while unloading and loading flatbed * Must be able to communicate with management and coworkers and exchange accurate information * Constantly work in an outdoor environment while making deliveries Required Cognitive Skills * Must be able to prioritize job sites and deadlines * Must be able to manage stress depending on customer deadlines * Must be able to multitask * Must be able to receive information and directions * Must be able to quickly communicate solutions if problems occur * Must be able to demonstrate a high degree of sound judgment Launch your career with a national building materials distributor and discover opportunities for growth and advancement.
