The paralegal provides advocacy and support to domestic violence, sexual assault, and other crime victims. The paralegal will assist attorneys and support staff with the Legal representation in family court, which includes orders of protection, custody/visitation, child/spousal support, paternity, guardianships, and other legal issues affecting victims and their rights. The paralegal will also assist the attorney(s) in the preparation of immigration applications, such as U & T-Nonimmigrant visas, VAWA, Battered-Spouse Waivers, as well as other litigation as we explore expansion of the legal services available to crime victims. This means working closely with our emergency doctors to provide same-day ultrasound scans for pets when they need it most.
