Position Overview The Manager of School Health plays a critical role in ensuring the seamless execution of school health systems across the KIPP Capital Region. Reporting to the Managing Director of School Health (MDSH), this role focuses on the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of non-instructional school health priorities, including enrollment, attendance, student persistence, operations systems, transportation, state testing, and compliance. The Manager serves as a key connector between schools and the regional team by translating strategy into execution, ensuring operational excellence, and driving data informed decision making. This individual partners closely with Directors of Operations (DOOs), School Based Operations Teams (Office Managers, Managers & Coordinators), and regional stakeholders to ensure schools are set up to meet their goals and deliver strong outcomes for students and families. Duties/Responsibilities School Health Implementation & Execution • Partner with the MDSH to execute network wide school health priorities, systems, and initiatives across all campuses., • Support schools in meeting key metrics, including enrollment, attendance, persistence, and student culture., • Serve as a primary liaison between school based operations teams and the regional team to ensure alignment and effective support., • Support school teams in strengthening arrival, dismissal, and daily operational systems to ensure safe, efficient school environments., • Assist in crisis response and provide operational support during urgent school based situations. Attendance & Chronic Absenteeism • Supports strong regionwide systems that drive daily student attendance and ensure accurate entry and tracking across all platforms., • Reviews and analyzes attendance and persistence data to identify trends, determine root causes, and implement targeted interventions, and serves as a member of the assigned school’s attendance team., • Ensures staff are fully trained on attendance protocols, consistently adhere to procedures, and execute actions that improve and drive daily attendance outcomes., • Partners proactively with families to remove barriers to attendance and ensure students are consistently present, engaged, and on track throughout the school year. Enrollment & Student Recruitment • Support the execution of regional student recruitment strategies to ensure 100% seat fill across schools, including internal and external recruitment efforts and events., • Collaborate with school teams to monitor enrollment pipelines, identify gaps, and implement targeted recruitment strategies, • Analyze enrollment and persistence data to identify trends and recommend persistence strategies as aligned with our regional playbook, • Partner with schools to ensure strong onboarding systems for new students and families, • Work closely with the Managing Director of School Health to develop and implement strategies to attract and enroll students, as well as collaborate with schools to meet enrollment targets. Transportation & Operational Systems • Manage relationships with district transportation offices and external vendors to ensure efficient and reliable bus service, • Coordinate transportation logistics, including route planning, communication, and issue resolution, • Partner with schools to ensure strong arrival and dismissal procedures that prioritize student safety, • Troubleshoot transportation challenges and implement solutions in collaboration with stakeholders School & Regional Support • Support the end to end execution of all regional and state testing (e.g., NYSED assessments, Regents, internal assessments) in partnership with school and regional teams, ensuring strong systems for scheduling, coverage, materials coordination, accommodations, and compliance, while providing on the ground operational support during high stakes testing windows to ensure smooth execution and real time problem solving., • Monitor testing readiness across schools by proactively identifying gaps and deploying targeted support, and oversee post testing processes, including materials return, data verification, and coordination of reporting requirements to ensure accuracy and full compliance., • Provide short term, high impact operations coverage during leadership gaps (e.g., Operation vacancies, leaves, transitions), stabilizing critical systems such as arrival/dismissal, attendance, enrollment, attendance, and other functions., • Deploy to schools during high need periods (e.g., start of year, re-enrollment, testing windows, crises) to ensure continuity and strong execution., • Support onboarding and development of new DOOs and operations staff to accelerate ramp-up and ensure consistency in systems and expectations., • Partner with the Managing Director of School Health to assess overall school health and determine where targeted intervention or additional support is needed., • Provide hands-on support to Directors of Operations and the Operations Team to strengthen operational and student culture systems., • Collaborate with regional teams to ensure schools receive aligned, high quality support across functions., • Support the planning and execution of regional initiatives, events, and professional development aligned to school health priorities., • Identify trends across schools and elevate opportunities for system wide improvement, driving consistency and shared best practices across the region. Communication • Maintain strong communication across school operations teams to ensure clarity, alignment, and consistency, • Build positive relationships with families, community partners, and external stakeholders, • Support communication efforts related to enrollment, transportation, and school operations, • Foster a collaborative, solutions-oriented culture across schools and the regional team KIPP Capital Region • Perform other duties outlined by the Managing Director of School Health., • Committed to furthering anti-racism, equity, and racial justice in all our efforts, and expect all our stakeholders to participate in this work so that we can create a future without limits for our students together., • Complies with all charter, federal, state, and local laws and regulations, including the NYS Department of Education, Department of Health, and NYS Office of Children and Family Services, • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited College or University is required., • At least one (1) plus years of experience working in School Operations, preferably in the charter, private, or public school environment, with a background in School Systems, Student Information Systems, Student Enrollment & Recruitment, and Transportation., • A strong understanding of student enrollment processes, student attendance & persistence, transportation logistics, and data compliance requirements with a demonstrated success managing complex operational systems in a school or regional setting, • Strong data analysis skills with the ability to translate insights into action, • Experience working with student information systems and compliance reporting (e.g., NYSED, SUNY), • Prior experience working in schools and urban communities is preferred., • Ability to work a flexible schedule outside of regular business hours.
