Your role as a Animal Care Clerk As a Full-Time Animal Care Clerk at the City of Pharr, your role is pivotal in delivering exceptional service to our community. You will be the welcoming face for visitors, expertly addressing inquiries related to animal services, lost and found pets, and city ordinances. Your responsibilities will include maintaining accurate records of animal intake, city registrations, and microchipping while monitoring essential program dashboards like ShelterLuv and PAWS. You'll issue and manage work orders, ensuring timely execution with cost-efficiency. Data entry, processing applications, and handling customer interactions will require professionalism and compassion, reflecting our core values. Your administrative tasks will encompass managing office supplies, preparing reports, and supporting public outreach for responsible pet ownership. Knowledge and skills required for the position are: • One year of experience or work in a similar field is preferred. A comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications., • Bilingual preferred., • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems related to municipal animal care services such as interpreting and explaining ordinances, file management, and other office procedures and terminology., • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing exceptional customer service and management., • Knowledge of computer software and use: Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, Word Perfect, and Microsoft Power Point., • Ability to de-escalate and maintain professional composure during high-stress situations., • Ability to communicate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds in writing and verbally., • Ability to interpret rules, policies, and procedures.
