Job Purpose: Seeking a Desktop Support Specialist to join the Technology team in New York. This individual will be responsible for both remote and in person support for all Employees. Duties include documenting, triaging, investigating, and resolving issues reported to the Service Desk. The Desktop Support Specialist will work closely with other teams within the technology department to understand the impact and root cause of issues. The successful candidate must be able to communicate clearly and concisely, particularly when under pressure. Technical proficiency, excellent problem-solving skills, professionalism, and solid communication skills are a must. How You'll Contribute: A Senior Field Engineer (SFE) will focus on commissioning complex systems. Commissioning involves the testing and fine tuning of all the equipment in the system to ensure it is working well, independently and as a system, per the design intent. The SFE will travel to the customer's site, and ensure the system is installed, setup and operating as designed. The SFE should be able to solve issues as they arise and be able to communicate with the team as needed. This position will mentor other FE's and assist other FE's through remote online support. The SFE will optimize all the settings in the equipment to ensure the system is operating as designed. Audio, video, displays, control and networking all have different optimization and adjustment needs., • The SFE will work closely with the system programmer to ensure the control system is functioning as without any issues. Remote systems work with programmers is common to load new code and troubleshoot issues., • May be required to regularly lead a team on large projects., • The SFE should be able to provide simple code and touch panel updates under the direction of the assigned programmer., • Keep current on technology, latest firmware updates, common field issues, • Diagnosing known and found problems and formulating solutions, • The SFE will mentor and provide remote assistance and support to other FE's. Complexity: The field aspect complicates commissioning a system. The SFE needs to have a high level of knowledge on a wide variety of equipment and different manufacturers. Deep understanding of audio, video, control and networking systems is important. This position requires coordination with a wide variety of stakeholders to ensure success. Providing training and support for other FE's and for the most complex systems and tasks requires a very experienced person with exceptional people skills. Decision Making Authority: The SFE typically will be working alone after the installation is substantially complete, but still will coordinate with other team members to ensure a smooth project completion and good communication. Project managers, engineers and others will be available to answer questions. Physical Working Environment: Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that may be met by an employee. The employee may be exposed to construction site conditions on a regular basis. Employee will be responsible for their safety while on job sites and to comply with all safety regulations in place by the GC. Use of PPE is usually required on job sites. The employee can typically spend at least 50% of their time on their feet and be required to mobile around the construction site. The employee must have the ability to occasionally climb ladders, use stairs and lift and/or move materials up to 40 pounds in construction areas. The individual is regularly required to use keyboards, test equipment and controls required for SI installation projects. Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth vision. When not on construction sites, the employee will experience normal office conditions and be required to use office equipment such as computers, peripherals, etc. Travel: Frequent travel by car and occasional airplane trips are required. The Opportunity We are seeking a Senior Production Test Engineer to lead the development and implementation of scalable, high-throughput test infrastructure for end-of-line testing for our integrated LiDAR sensor. You will be responsible for engineering and developing robust test methodologies with the goal of mass production for our LiDAR units. This is a highly cross-functional role working closely with Systems, Photonics, Electrical, Firmware, and Manufacturing Engineering teams to ensure performance, yield, and reliability from prototype to volume production. Key Responsibilities * Design and implement end-of-line (EOL) test strategies for LiDAR sensors, validating system-level performance (range, velocity, reflectivity, etc.). * Develop automated test fixtures and software to support both in-line and EOL testing in a production setting. * Translate lab-level validation methods into robust and scalable production tests across optical, electrical, and mixed-signal domains. * Partner with external contract manufacturers and test vendors to stand up and scale production test infrastructure; support factory bring-up and operator training. * Drive test coverage, throughput, and cost optimization in both low- and medium-volume manufacturing. * Lead root cause investigations for test failures across the stack and work cross-functionally to implement fixes. * Own and continuously improve statistical process control (SPC), yield tracking, and test data analytics across the production lifecycle. * Support reliability and environmental testing (e.g. thermal cycling, vibration, shock) for product qualification. Qualifications * Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Physics, or a related discipline. * 5+ years of experience in production test engineering with a focus on LiDAR systems or optical sensors. * Proven expertise in system-level testing for LiDAR, imaging, or other complex optical systems. * Hands-on experience developing and deploying automated test setups (Python preferred), including test instrumentation and DAQ systems. * Proven track record in statistical process control, yield analysis, and high-volume data-driven decision-making. * Demonstrated experience owning test strategy and implementation in a manufacturing or pilot-line environment. * Experience interfacing with contract manufacturers and external test vendors. As part of our team, your core responsibilities will include, but not limited to: • Serve as the technical owner and architect for a C++ SDK controlling an ultrasound imaging device., • Lead SDK design decisions with a focus on API clarity, usability, scalability, and long-term maintainability., • Rapidly learn complex device behavior, imaging workflows, and system constraints to make informed design decisions., • Work autonomously to define requirements, propose solutions, and execute with minimal supervision., • Collaborate cross-functionally with firmware, hardware, imaging, systems, and product teams to define control and data interfaces., • Design abstractions for device configuration, image acquisition, real-time data streaming, and system state management., • Establish best practices for SDK architecture, testing strategy, documentation standards, and release processes., • Ensure SDK robustness, performance, and reliability in hardware-integrated and real-time contexts., • Drive SDK versioning, backward compatibility, deprecation policies, and partner-facing release strategy., • Create and maintain high-quality developer documentation, examples, and reference implementations., • Mentor and provide technical guidance to other engineers contributing to the SDK or adjacent platform components., • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience., • Extensive professional experience developing production-quality software in modern C++ (C++14/17/20)., • Proven experience designing and owning SDKs, platforms, or shared libraries used by multiple teams or external users, with a primary focus on Linux-based systems., • Comfort and familiarity working with Python., • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn complex systems involving hardware, firmware, or imaging pipelines., • Strong architectural and system design skills with an emphasis on clean, intuitive APIs., • Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and drive work forward with minimal direction., • Deep understanding of memory management, object lifetimes, and performance optimization in C++., • Experience with multithreading, concurrency, and synchronization in performance-sensitive systems., • Strong testing discipline, including unit, integration, and hardware-in-the-loop testing strategies., • Familiarity with real-time operating systems (RTOS) or real-time constraints., • Familiarity with automatic cross-language wrapper generation (Djinni, SWIG)., • Support Development tools in Qt 6., • Support complex build systems with multiple build tools and CI pipelines., • Experience with device drivers, hardware abstraction layers, or firmware interfaces., • Knowledge of image acquisition, signal processing, or data streaming architectures., • Experience defining SDK governance, versioning strategies, and long-term technical roadmaps., • Familiarity with medical software standards (e.g., IEC 62304, ISO 13485, FDA software lifecycle guidance).
