Job Title: Emergency Room Technician Location: Flushing, NY 11355 Department: Emergency Room Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:15 PM (includes a 45-minute break) Pay Rate: $24 – $28 per hour Assignment Duration: 59 days (covering FTE LOA) POSITION OVERVIEW The Emergency Room Technician provides basic patient care and supports daily living activities under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. This role is essential to maintaining efficient patient flow and high-quality care within a fast-paced Emergency Department. The technician performs clinical tasks such as vital signs, EKGs, glucose monitoring, and telemetry surveillance, ensuring timely and accurate patient support. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Provide direct patient care under the guidance of an RN., • Assist patients with daily living activities as needed., • Obtain and record vital signs., • Perform phlebotomy procedures (required)., • Conduct EKGs and assist with cardiac monitoring., • Monitor and document telemetry readings., • Perform glucose testing via finger stick., • Support nursing staff with patient transport, equipment setup, and general unit functions., • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment., • Perform other duties as assigned by nursing leadership. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS • Minimum 1 year of experience as an Emergency Department Technician., • Phlebotomy experience required., • Experience as an EKG Technician, Nursing Attendant, or equivalent role., • Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced ER environment. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS • EKG/Arrhythmia Certificate (Preferred), • Medical Technician certificate (Preferred), • Nursing Attendant certification (Preferred) SKILLS & ABILITIES • Strong knowledge of emergency clinical procedures., • Ability to perform EKGs, glucose checks, and vitals accurately., • Effective communication and teamwork skills., • Ability to remain calm and professional in high-stress situations., • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
