    We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Server to join our small team here at Shokudo Hoboken, a cozy full-service Japanese ramen restaurant and bar! Our 2 server shifts are as follows: 11 AM to 11 PM or 4 PM to 11 PM. Applicants MUST be available for these shifts, as well as most weekends and holidays. Responsibilities Greet guests warmly and present menus in a friendly manner. Promptly and politely answer calls for takeout orders, reservations, or general inquiries. Take accurate food and drink orders using a cash register via point-of-sale system. Serve food and beverages promptly and presentably. Maintain cleanliness of the dining area, including bar and service stations. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely preparation of orders. Adhere to all health and safety regulations regarding food handling and sanitation practices. Manage time effectively to ensure efficient service during peak hours. Hand-wash delicate glassware, organize service stations, and replenish any utensils, plates or drinkware during off-peak hours. Qualifications Previous experience in food service or hospitality is preferred but not required. Knowledge of cash register operation and basic math skills for processing transactions. Understanding of food safety practices and culinary standards. Strong time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently. Excellent communication skills with a focus on guest services. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. Must be able to stand for long periods and occasionally lift heavy items in a fast-paced setting. Familiarity with proper food-handling protocols and ability to adhere to food safety rules. ServSafe certification or equivalent preferred. Must be proficient in English. Must be over 18 or older to serve alcohol on premises. Previous bartending experience is preferred, but not required.
