Job DescriptionDescription: Mental Health Association of Nassau County (MHANC) is a not-for-profit membership organization dedicated to improving mental health in our community through advocacy, education, program development, and the delivery of direct services. Our organization is looking for a motivated individual with a calling to help adults with mental illness by becoming a Peer Companion - Group Facilitator. Peer Specialist utilizes personal experience and peer specialist training to assist others in their recovery from psychiatric illness. May perform a variety of duties depending on strengths and/or interests. Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Conducts regularly scheduled self-help, peer support, advocacy, or informational groups on-site or off-site utilizing required communication, intentional peer support, listening skills training, support skills, etc., • Utilizes knowledge and understanding of peer directed recovery-based philosophy., • Completes necessary paperwork and records pertinent documentation., • Maintain client confidentiality., • Other duties as assigned. Requirements: Education and Experience • Six months to one year part time or full-time experience in delivery of direct services to mental health consumer/survivors (volunteer or paid), preferred., • Firsthand knowledge of mental health service delivery system., • Belief in the possibility of recovery for all individuals diagnosed with psychiatric illnesses., • Good oral and written communication skills., • Knowledge of consumer/survivor/ex-patient movement and peer run or peer driven services that incorporate recovery based philosophies., • Ability to relate to both other survivors of mental illness and psychiatric diagnosis and mental health professionals., • Working knowledge of mental health service delivery system., • Valid and “clean” New York State Drivers’ License, required.

Job DescriptionFull and Part-Time Game Facilitator We are currently seeking active, passionate, and customer service-savvy professionals for the role of Game Facilitator. This position keeps you constantly on the move, with limited time spent sitting down. It may involve tasks that require you to be actively present and responsive in a fast-paced work environment. Activate is taking entertainment into the future by fusing technology and physical activity together to create live-action gaming experiences. You and your group enter a game experience and become the players to actively and mentally complete challenges. Key Responsibilities: • Check customers in, take payments, and make reservations, • Brief new groups prior to the start of the game;, • Monitor customers in the gaming area and provide explanations if necessary;, • Participating with customers in active games if needed to ensure customers have an excellent experience;, • Maintain the rooms by cleaning, painting, and any required maintenance;, • Troubleshoot, identify, and make minor repairs in the event of a malfunction; Required Skills and Qualifications: • Strong communication, multi-tasking, and time management skills, • Must be flexible and available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, • Ability to adapt to unforeseen situations in a calm and efficient manner, • Must be a people person - energetic, friendly, and outgoing, with the ability to command attention in a crowd., • A strong customer service orientation with a commitment to delivering an exceptional customer experience., • Must be willing to work various shifts starting as early as 9 am and ending as late as 1 am. Managers will work within the given availability, • Some troubleshooting and technical ability that can be applied to a wide variety of equipment repair/maintenance needs.
