Summary of the Position: The FYPS Supervisor & MCH Coordinator will fulfill two roles at PHS, split 50% of time for each role: • Supervisor of the Family & Youth Peer Support (FYPS) program. FYPS is a program that provides adults and youth in Brooklyn with peer support while they navigate complex social systems. Specifically as Supervisor, Family Youth Peer Support Program (FYPS): • Develop and/or maintain tools to ensure the program meets its goals, both in terms of enrollment volume and quality of implementation and partnership. This includes trackers monitoring outreach and enrollment, partnership strategy, and growth., • Supervise FYPS program staff, including the Youth Peer Advocate and Family Peer Advocate, including supporting compliance with the FYPS intervention model and reporting and training and professional development opportunities for the FYPS team., • Be the point of contact with the funding agency and participate in all required FYPS meetings., • Prepare and submit all required FYPS reports, as per subcontractor agreement., • Monitor the FYPS budget, including the purchase of FYPS program supplies and participant incentives, and coordinate with the PHS finance team and MCH Senior Director to monitor spending, voucher submission, and budget modification process as needed, • Identify, promote and support collaboration between the FYPS program and other PHS and non-PHS services to ensure patients and participants can benefit from all services as appropriate. Specifically as MCH Administrative Coordinator: • Process purchase requests, contract development, and other administrative tasks to support the MCH unit., • Help coordinate unit-wide activities such as Cool Culture, Health Bucks, the MCH Annual Family Picnic and more., • Oversee the MCH All Staff SharePoint and associated files and support Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) development across the unit., • Provide back-up scheduling support for the NYC Breastfeeding Warmline., • Support unit-wide quality assurance and reporting activities., • Other tasks as needed in support of MCH programs. Qualifications and Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in related field., • Previous supervisory experience required; previous experience in supervising community-based peer support programs preferred., • Previous experience as a Family Peer Advocate or Youth Peer Advocate preferred., • The Family and Youth Peer Support program requires that candidates for this position must bring their own lived experience of navigating social systems. The Crisis Management System is a supporting a set of interrelated services to reduce gun violence in over 88 schools across 40 target neighborhoods. The school-based services component is designed to provide culturally competent programming to at-risk youth to reduce the likelihood of their involvement in violence in their school or community with the goal of increasing their engagement at school as measured through attendance, academic progress, and other measures. The program can also include school-wide activities to assist in changing the culture around violence and to assist schools in their response to incidents that occur in the school or community. Participants should reside in or near the target Cure Violence (CV) catchment area, and be selected based on their risk for, and previously documented engagement in, violence or other infractions in the school or community in consultation with the principal or other school-based leaders plus the designated service provider.
