Job DescriptionPosition Title: Human Resources Manager Reports To: Director of Human Resources Department Broad Function: Oversee the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including hiring and interviewing staff, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices. I. Specific Responsibilities:, • Supervise and manage onboarding and new hire orientation in addition to verifying background checks, I-9 documents, driver licenses, professional licenses, and other employment requirements. and ensures, • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development., • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications., • Oversee onboarding and new hire orientation in addition to verifying background checks, I-9 documents, driver licenses, professional licenses, and other employment requirements. and ensures, • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff., • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations., • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development., • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance., • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, including and not limited to maintaining the HRIS system and Online Training system., • Review and administer agency training as assigned by Director of Human Resources Department, • Administer various employee benefits programs, such as group health, flexible spending accounts, dental and vision, accident and disability, life insurance, 401(k), wellness benefits and assists with benefit reporting requirements., • Conduct benefits orientations and explain benefits self-service system., • Maintain employee benefits filing systems and ensure benefits changes are entered appropriately in payroll system for payroll deductions (Datis, and PayCom)., • Verify the calculation of the monthly premium statements for all group insurance policies and maintain statistical data relative to premiums, claims and costs., • Review and respond to unemployment claim with appropriate documentation. Review monthly unemployment statements., • Coordinate workers' compensation claims with third-party administrator. Follow up on claims., • Monitors compliance for employee files, mandatory trainings, and verifies educational degrees, certification and professional licenses., • Ensure distribution of required employment regulatory notices other important staff communication., • Maintain biweekly employee reports, new hire/absentee reports and ensure paid time off calculations are accurate. Maintain and update company organizational charts, phone directory and other requested reports as needed., • Supports all audits coordinating with Finance and Programs with direction from Director of Human Resources, • Supervise the recruitment process including position postings, selection, prescreening interviews and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental Directors/Manager or Coordinators to understand skills and competencies required for openings. Education/Certification: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required. Experience: At least 8 years of experience working within HR, and 5 years of supervisory experience leading a team. In addition, a combination of 2 years of experience in employee relations and benefit administration is required. Experience working at a nonprofit agency is a plus. • Resourceful, problem-solving aptitude and thorough knowledge of HR procedures and policies Skills and Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS and talent management systems. Salary : $65,000 - $70,000 Vacation & Benefits: • Vacation: As a full-time employee working generally 35 hours per week, you will be eligible to participate in the Family Connections group benefit plans.
