This is a 6 -month assignment with the possibility of a contract-to-hire opportunity, and it's a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization! Job Title: Medical Laboratory Scientist Pay Rate: $35-$40 per hour Location: Clifton, NJ 07012 Schedule: Monday to Friday 9am to 530pm. About the Role: We are seeking a dedicated Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) for a contract opportunity at a clinical laboratory in Clifton, NJ 07012. This role is ideal for professionals who thrive in fast-paced environments and are passionate about delivering high-quality diagnostic testing. You will be responsible for performing moderate to highly complex clinical laboratory tests, ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures, and contributing to accurate patient diagnoses. Key Responsibilities: Perform moderate to high-complexity clinical tests independently Prepare reagents, media, and control solutions; evaluate new reagents as needed Determine specimen acceptability based on testing criteria Calculate and report test results using both manual and automated systems Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory instruments Perform preventative maintenance, calibration, and performance checks Conduct and review quality control procedures; initiate corrective actions as necessary Supervise and train unlicensed staff in laboratory procedures Participate in team meetings, quality improvement efforts, and special projects Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Adhere to all safety, infection control, and environmental protocols Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or related life/physical science (REQUIRED) Experience: 0–3 years in a clinical lab setting (rate based on experience) Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Strong typing and automation skills preferred Ability to work with repetitive tasks and maintain focus Must pass a color vision test for roles requiring color detection (e.g., fluorescence microscopy) Pride Global offers eligible employees comprehensive healthcare coverage (medical, dental, and vision plans), supplemental coverage (accident insurance, critical illness insurance, and hospital indemnity), 401(k)-retirement savings, life & disability insurance, an employee assistance program, , legal support, auto ,home insurance, pet insurance, and employee discounts with preferred vendors.
