Job Description PowerPro Equipment is looking for a detail-driven and experienced Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic who can provide excellent service in maintenance, diagnosis & repair of outdoor power equipment in order to provide the best service to our customers and our community surrounding our Ringoes, NJ location! Qualifications: • Strong mechanical and technical aptitude, • 3 years of diesel service experience required, 5 years preferred, • Ability to understand and provide for the customer's needs, • Positive attitude, exuding courtesy and helpfulness, • Organized and detail-oriented, ability to set priorities and meet deadlines, • Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds Experience & Education: • High school diploma required, • Demonstrated on-the-job experience Responsibilities: • Repair & maintain outdoor power equipment, including but not limited to: Branson, Mahindra, Schaffer, XCMG, Pettibone, Hustler, Spartan, Ventrac, and other tractors, Turf, and/or excavator equipment, • Diagnosing diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical, and mechanical problems, • Perform repairs within the time parameters as established by flat rate time or billed time with proper diagnosis, • Clearly explain diagnoses and repair of the machine in question to the customer's satisfaction (if called upon), • Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness, improve and promote quality, and monitor own work to ensure quality and work at a high level of independence, • Observe all safety and security procedures, report potentially unsafe conditions, and use equipment and materials properly, • Work with integrity, always upholding company values and The PowerPro Advantage \nCompany Description For over 50 years, PowerPro Equipment has been a trusted family-owned and operated dealership specializing in outdoor power and construction equipment. Basic Purpose: Independently troubleshoot, diagnose, rebuild, replace and complete all required repairs on diesel equipment (i.e., tractors, trailers, bobtails, reefers, lift gates, etc.). ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Perform preventative maintenance within company standards. Complete documentation of all repair orders, PM list and parts accountability. Handle road service calls; perform road rescue/transport equipment as needed. Keep track of assigned repairs by logging in and out of the software system. Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with workplace safety rules and regulations and government guidelines. Maintain inventory and proper recordkeeping. Backup to other maintenance shop personnel. Willingness and capacity to assume increased responsibility and Certifications. Performs other duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Must have 5 years of verifiable hands-on experience as a heavy-duty commercial diesel mechanic. Diagnostic and troubleshooting ability using fleet maintenance software. Successfully demonstrated independent analytical and problem-solving skills. Must furnish own personal hand tools. Ability to comply with EPA and OSHA regulations pertaining to the shop and fleet. Ability to read and understand technical and service manuals. Excellent communication skills; able to communicate with co-workers and drivers with demonstrated teamwork skills. Ability to manage multiple functions simultaneously in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision. Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs. Computer and software experience. High school diploma or equivalent required. Must possess a valid driver's license. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: JPRO software experience. Welding ability Knowledge with electrical schematics Basic Microsoft Excel and Word skills.
