Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: Hematology / Oncology, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 11/10/2025, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, nights, • Employment Type: Travel RN - Peds Oncology - Contract - MSH Client: Mount Sinai Health System Location: 1184 5th Ave – Kravis, New York, NY 10029 Start Date: 11/10/2025 End Date: 02/07/2026 Schedule: Night Shift, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 3 shifts/week, 12 hours/day Job Summary: The Pediatric Oncology Clinical Nurse is a Registered Nurse who delivers safe, evidence-based, and compassionate care to pediatric oncology patients in a hospital setting, utilizing the Mount Sinai Relationship Centered Care model and the nursing process. Duties & Responsibilities: Patient Care • Provide patient care using the nursing process, theory, and evidence-based practice., • Assess, evaluate, and manage care needs of pediatric oncology patients., • Apply relevant clinical interventions specific to pediatric oncology., • Collaborate with the healthcare team to create and evaluate individualized plans of care., • Educate patients and caregivers about treatment, recovery, health promotion, and disease prevention., • Prioritize comprehensive care including teaching, discharge planning, and resource allocation., • Document care accurately in electronic medical records., • Implement Relationship Centered Care practices (Admission Welcome, Bedside Report, HELP, AM/PM Care, Hourly Rounding, Discharge Wrap-Up)., • Respect patient and family values, preferences, and cultural diversity., • Establish therapeutic relationships with patients and families., • Demonstrate empathy, compassion, respect, and active listening., • Initiate service recovery and escalate concerns appropriately., • Deliver safe, efficient, patient-centered care., • Recognize and escalate care barriers and safety issues., • Contribute to quality improvement and safety initiatives., • Participate in institutional reviews and interdisciplinary collaborations., • Utilize hospital technology and documentation standards., • Support evidence-based projects and nursing research., • Apply high-reliability practices to reduce risks., • Minimum 2 years pediatric oncology experience in a hospital setting, • Strong knowledge of pediatric oncology protocols and interventions, • Proficient in clinical procedures (venipuncture, catheterization, CPR), • Effective communication, team collaboration, and critical thinking, • Manual dexterity and physical ability for extended patient care, • Experience with electronic medical record systems, • NYS RN License – Required, • BLS – Required Founded in 2015, HonorVet Technologies stands as a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), proudly certified by NaVOBA and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
