Minimum Qualifications: • Completion of an accredited surgical technology program., • Certification as a surgical technologist (CST) or equivalent., • Additional certifications in specialized areas such as gastrointestinal endoscopy., • Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems., • Prepare the operating room for endoscopic procedures by ensuring all necessary instruments and equipment are sterile and ready for use., • Assist surgeons and other medical staff during endoscopic procedures by passing instruments, suctioning, and maintaining the sterile field., • Monitor patient vitals and assist in positioning patients for optimal access during procedures., • Maintain accurate records of surgical procedures, including instruments used and any complications that arise. The required skills for this position include a strong understanding of surgical instruments and sterile techniques, which are essential for maintaining a safe operating environment. Attention to detail is crucial, as the Endoscopy Surgical Technician must ensure that all instruments are accounted for and properly sterilized. Communication skills are also vital, as the role involves constant interaction with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. Preferred skills, such as proficiency in EMR systems, enhance the efficiency of record-keeping and patient management.
