They will be responsible for the following: Teacher as Advisor As students transition to high school, one of the things they could lose is the comfort of having a teacher who understands their background, challenges, and successes. Research has shown that this relationship is a key part of having students feel accounted for and by extension, accountable. In support of our students, our teachers are also Advisors to between 12-15 students for the duration of their high school career. This allows the teacher to become a part of the developmental process of their students and allows each family to have a primary contact within the school at all times.     How to Apply The role We're looking for a full-time Retail Associate to join us at the Element Brooklyn Gallery of Scent in the South Street Seaport. The space is part refillery, part scent museum, part candle workshop – there's nothing else quite like it in the city. This is a full-time role, Wednesday through Sunday, 11am–7pm. We're looking to fill it as soon as possible. Although the Gallery is a limited run (through the end of the year), we expect to open another retail location and this role will transition there – it can also transition for the right candidate to a role at our Bushwick warehouse. We train reliable people with the right attitude and work ethic. A car is not required. English is not required. Our employee-support team communicates in both English and Spanish. Applicants who speak other languages are also welcome, and additional language assistance may be available. This position will not be a good fit for someone who is regularly late, frequently cancels assignments at the last minute or does not want to follow cleaning checklists and company procedures.
