Job Description What You’ll Do As a Maintenance Supervisor with Fedcap, you will manage and work alongside a team of Porters providing custodial services for shelters as part of Fedcap’s building services contracts with NYC Department of Homeless Services (DHS). You will be responsible for supervision, training, and scheduling of your team. Additionally, you will monitor overall performance to ensure that immaculate service is provided in accordance with contract requirements and in a manner that is respectful of shelter residents and staff. Your Responsibilities Will Include: • Supervise Porters and participate in cleaning and maintenance including stripping, waxing, and polishing floors; cleaning bathrooms and replacing bathroom supplies; cleaning offices, stairs, hallways, kitchens, dorms, porter closets, and linen rooms; removing garbage; maintaining grounds; removing snow and graffiti; and other work as directed., • Manage overall Porter performance, including scheduling, tracking attendance, training, and reporting incidents related to inappropriate behavior or safety., • Complete all required documentation on a timely basis. You’re a great fit for this role if you have: • High School Diploma required, with additional education (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree) preferred., • Valid US driver’s license preferred., • Maintenance skills and experience (ideally 3+ years) that include use of chemicals and equipment, stripping and waxing floors, carpet extracting and steam cleaning, scrubbing and recoating bathrooms, and other specialty services., • Supervisory experience (ideally 2+ years) managing at least five employees., • Ability to effectively communicate and manage interactions with on-site customer., • Common sense and effective problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and proactively solve problems as they arise., • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred., • Computer literacy, particularly with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, and Excel). Schedule/Location • All Shifts (8am-4pm, 4pm-12am, 12am-8am), • Locations throughout Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan, • Start as a floater with 40+ hours/week, • Move to permanent location and schedule as soon as available Compensation $33.00/hour for weekday hours (12:00 am Monday-11:59 pm Friday) $49.50/hour for weekend hours (12:00 am Saturday-11:59 pm Sunday) $13/hour ADDITIONAL toward Health & Welfare benefits or 403(b) retirement plan Who We Are Fedcap Rehabilitation Services was founded in 1935 by three WWI veterans in NYC who were unable to find work due to their war-related disabilities and literally changed the world for people with physical disabilities.
