This role involves providing care for patients during labor, delivery, and postpartum. The ideal candidate will float to postpartum as needed and may be required to be on-call if census drops. Responsibilities: • Provide comprehensive nursing care for patients in the Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) settings., • Float to the postpartum unit when necessary., • Perform tasks such as scrubbing, circulating for C-sections, and providing conscious sedation., • Monitor and recognize abnormal fetal heart rate patterns using external fetal monitoring., • Participate in triage of obstetrical patients., • Maintain a patient ratio of 1:2., • Utilize GE Centricity for charting and Pyxis for medication administration., • Communicate effectively using the SBAR (Situation, Background, Assessment, Recommendation) format. Qualifications: • Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience in Labor and Delivery and Mother/Baby., • Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS (AHA), NRP., • Charge experience is preferred., • Experience with external fetal monitoring and recognition of abnormal fetal heart rates is necessary., • First-time travelers are accepted for this position., • Must reside outside of defined radius restrictions: Westchester County, Rockland County, New York City, and within 50 miles of the facility., • Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Unit Details: • Staffing Type: Block scheduling, • Weekend Coverage: True, with a maximum of 39 weekend shifts per contract., • Interdisciplinary support available from Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Social Services, and more., • Daily census and specific patient diagnoses will be discussed during the interview process.
