Job Description PRIMARY FUNCTION/PURPOSE: The core responsibility of the Residential Aide (RA) includes the continued assurance of support and care to clients residing in the shelter. Under the general direction of the Shift Supervisor, the RA provides direct assistance, support, and care to clients residing in the facility, as well as supporting, assisting, and enforcing facility rules. This position is responsible for working with clients at our Belnord location in NY, NY. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: • At least a High School Diploma or GED is required, • Must have and maintain a valid NYS security license, • At least two years of experience in Single Adult Shelters and/or Congregate Residential Services is required, • Experience working with families / homeless population is required, • Food Protection certification and CPR/ First Aid certification is required, • Must complete a satisfactory background investigation, • Excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as organizational skills, • Must have incredible initiative, the ability to work well under pressure, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team to complete complex projects in a fast-paced environment, • Intermediate level of computer skills with proficiency in Word, Excel, and the ability to learn new technologies and databases PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Complete new resident Intake arrival packets, exits logs, and daily occupancy forms, • Utilize the Department of Homeless Services (DHS) Client Assistance and Rehousing Enterprise Systems (CARES) to complete Intake Check-ins and Discharge Conditional Intakes, • Review the Nightly Attendance Roster Incident reports, • Receive food deliveries and confirm items received/receipts for accuracy by signing and dating forms, • Report all inconsistencies with food deliveries to the appropriate Shift Supervisor and Program Director, • Distribute meals to residents and dispose of expired food items as outlined by the DHS Food Distribution Guidelines, • Monitor logs to ensure clients are signing the Daily Attendance Roster when entering and exiting the facility, • Provide clients access to rooms and assist in the facilitation and completion of room transfers/swaps, • Collect trash in office and dispose trash in designated areas, • Distribute DHS notices (4002 notices, appointment slips, mail, etc.) to residents, • Adhere to DHS housekeeping mandates by cleaning office space, microwave, refrigerator, and bathroom at the end of every shift; always maintain a clean and neat office space, • Bag and tag client personal belongings when necessary, and report room cleaning and repair needs to Shift Supervisor, • Collaborate with on-site Shift Supervisor to ensure a safe environment for all staff and clients, • Conduct hourly rounds of the facility to ensure all room doors are secured, and clients’ personal belongings are secured, • Conduct safety checks of clients staying in the facility due to illness, mobility issues, etc., • Ensure clients are responsive during safety checks, • Immediately alert medical staff and immediate supervisor of any clients found in distress, • Must be able to rotate shift at the discretion of the DPO to meet the needs of the program, • Conduct operation unit inspections during the new intake process, • Maintain all logs (Attendance, ACS, emergency contacts, sign-in/out logbook) and submit logs on the 1st of every month to the Director of Operations, • On the 1st of every month, create a dead file of all the logs to be submitted for storage, • Adhere to the dress code policy for uniformed personnel and maintain a clean, neat, and professional appearance at all times, • Review all paperwork and logs completed during the previous shift with the Shift Supervisor before the end of tour, • Physically check all unoccupied rooms to determine status of readiness, repairs, and cleanings, • Ensure all clean and ready units have clean linens and towels; alert maintenance team of any items needed, • Complete and submit all paperwork (daily occupancy, exit logs, meal census, NSR, new intake, curfew violations, incidents etc.), • Serve breakfast 8:00am to 10:00am, lunch 12:00pm to 2:00pm, and dinner 6:00pm to 8:00pm, • Finalize Night Signature Roster (NSR) in CARES, • Ensure new logs for the month are in place, • Receive and log incoming meals, usually at 6:00am, • Deliver mail during the 8:00am to 4:00pm shift, • Clock in where appropriate using the time clock system sign-in via the onsite logbook, • Must be available for overtime when necessary, • Required to work additional shifts to ensure coverage when staff is out of the office for various reasons Other Requirements (including Physical Demands): • May be required to work long hours and a varied schedule to meet job demands and deadlines, • Periodically may bend, lift, and carry objects weighing up to seventy-five pounds, • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions EEO Statement – Children’s Rescue Fund is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Job Description PRIMARY FUNCTION/PURPOSE: The core responsibility of the Residential Aide (RA) includes the continued assurance of support and care to clients residing in the shelter. Under the general direction of the Shift Supervisor, the RA provides direct assistance, support, and care to clients residing in the facility, as well as supporting, assisting, and enforcing facility rules. This position is responsible for working with clients at our Belnord location in NY, NY. Summary: The ARC (Animal Recovery Center) and CARE (Canine Annex for Recovery and Enrichment) facilities are dedicated to the recovery and rehabilitation of victims of cruelty and neglect admitted through NYPD and the ASPCA’s Humane Law Enforcement (HLE) and Community Engagement (CE) programs. Our dedicated team of more than 45 sheltering, medical, and animal behavior professionals work closely with the ASPCA Animal Hospital, Forensics, Legal Advocacy and Investigations, Behavioral Sciences, Shelter Medicine Services, Community Engagement, Placement, and the Adoption Center teams to ensure coordinated response and operations, and holistic, balanced, high quality care for the animals we serve. The Licensed Veterinary Technician at the ASPCA Canine Annex for Recovery and Enrichment (CARE) is responsible for a broad range of medical and administrative tasks in the CARE that serves animals admitted through the NYPD Partnership program. The LVT delivers compassionate nursing care and has a broad knowledge of animal science, medicine, and husbandry, including a basic knowledge of pharmacology, shelter medicine, behavior, and proficient mathematical skills. One of the most critical functions of this role is serving as a member of a team of medical, behavior and sheltering operations personnel, all dedicated to working together to provide holistic care for victims of cruelty and neglect. The schedule is Sundays-Wednesdays from 9a-7p. Job Description Location Brooklyn 11236 Schedule Mon-Fri 7am-3:30pm, Full-time AM Essential Job Functions Specialized Medical Specialist tasks: • Make medical appointments for consumers., • Arranges or provides transportation to medical appointments for consumers., • Upon return from a medical appointment, checks to see if the consumer has medication order, new medications, or a future medical appointment., • Completes the appropriate medical summary records in the consumer’s chart. Completes a summary record of medical visits in the nursing communication log and updates the appointment record log., • Places a copy of the medical summary reports in the medical professional staffs’ mailboxes., • When on duty, ensures that medications are ordered, documented in the medication administration form, or discharged as ordered. When not on duty, checks the medication administration performance of the AMAPs upon return to work., • Checks medications and medical supplies twice a week to ensure that a five-day supply of medications is on hand and that medical supplies are in sufficient quantity to support the medication program., • Files consumer medical records in accordance with Agency policy., • Conducts monthly checks of the consumers’ weight and records the results on appropriate records., • Receives medications from medication suppliers, checks the medications against doctor’s orders, and records new medications on appropriate forms. Medical Specialists are expected to be able to perform all duties of a Direct Support Professional as assigned. Duties may be performed in several or all of the following areas: Personal Care • Teaches and reinforces accepted infection control and personal grooming techniques; assists in bathing, dental care, hair and nail care, personal hygiene, toileting, incontinence care, menstrual care, and grooming routines as necessary., • Teaches and assists individuals in dressing, clothing selection, storage, laundering and repair of clothing and accessories; helps them to shop for clothing., • Teaches and assists in proper use and care of shavers and razors, eyeglasses, hearing aids, prostheses as prescribed by appropriate medical practitioner., • Administers and teaches individuals first aid treatments; administers cardiopulmonary resuscitation techniques and performs other health-related techniques as required., • Takes, records, reports temperatures, blood pressures, pulse rate, weight, and other significant symptoms/health-related occurrences; aids developmentally disabled individuals in understanding, recording, and reporting such factors., • Maintains confidentiality of information., • Reports unusual incidents and physical or behavioral symptoms promptly and accurately to the supervisor., • Applies valid and accepted limits for inappropriate behavior and helps control and restrain individuals with challenging behaviors in their care., • Administers prescribed medications and treatments; teaches, observes, reports problems and progress in self-administration of medications programs; assists individuals in achieving more independence in administration of medications; teaches use of skin care lotions, topical ointments, eye and ear drops and assists in their use as needed., • Assists individuals in eating who cannot feed themselves independently., • Teaches individuals to eat in a family-style setting; models and teaches mealtime socialization skills. Checks to see that fire exits are clear, night-lights and exit signs on, windows locked, etc., • Stores supply and assure that storage areas are kept in a neat and orderly condition., • Responsible for storage and replacement of linens., • May assist in various household inventories., • Performs/teaches minor and routine maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, fuses, replacement of faucet washers; and obtains repair services for appliances., • Performs/teaches routine removal of trash, cleaning of trash containers, ashtrays, etc., • Teaches/performs outdoor maintenance tasks and repairs of residence, yard, garden, walks; reports need for or obtain repair services for automobiles, vans, mowers, etc., • Checks fire equipment and report any malfunction., • Teach and reinforces use of a variety of communication skills., • Guides individuals through motor exercises designed to increase physical coordinative functions., • Teaches and reinforce principles of human growth and development, including human sexuality, as determined by each person's developmental level and program plan., • Teaches acceptable work habits, e.g., punctuality, dress and grooming, to enable individuals to develop readiness for work outside the home, or in support of individuals' habilitative goals., • Accompanies developmentally disabled individuals to community activities including worksites, cultural, religious and social events, day programs, and visits to health practitioners; aids them in developing awareness and use of community resources and in interacting with others., • Provides support for maximum community integration., • Transports/arranges for transport of individuals to community events; and aids them in development of their mobility skills., • Maintains an adequate supply of and accounting of personal clothing and possessions., • Teaches money management principles to developmentally disabled individuals; and completes/aids in completion of banking activities., • Provides an accurate accounting of all financial transactions made on behalf of individuals in their care., • Helps developmentally disabled individuals to develop/maintain positive interpersonal relationships with their peers, with others in their families, and with others in the community. Job Description SPORTIME owns and operates 17 tennis, pickleball, sports, camp and fitness clubs across NYS, including sites across Long Island, in Westchester, Manhattan and the Capital Region and New Jersey. Several of these locations currently feature both dedicated and/or “blended” pickleball courts, and offer court-time, instruction and related programs. SUMMARY The Director of Maintenance supervises and directs the work of the maintenance and housekeeping staffs at various sites. This is a hands on managerial position which requires experience in all phases of maintenance and construction. The Director of Maintenance works within budgets guidelines, develops and maintains relationships with vendors, interviews, hires and train maintenance and housekeeping staff.
