SMC is actively looking for an Entry Level Electrical Engineer / Designer to help execute electrical design for mission critical projects. Typical project types may include design of greenfield and brownfield data center facilities, design of fit-out packages for hyperscale and enterprise clients of colocation providers, data center campus planning, conceptual designs and feasibility studies, and power systems studies such as Neher-McGrath, short circuit, coordination, and arc flash. This candidate will execute specific design tasks as part of a broader electrical team while furthering their own knowledge and developing their skills. The candidate will typically work under the guidance of senior and/or mid-level engineers. The electrical design scope will be a part of a broader project and therefore this candidate will learn to interface with design leads within SMC (mechanical, telecommunications, fire protection, plumbing) as well as externally including architectural, civil, structural, etc. The ideal candidate has a strong work ethic, is eager to learn, and wants to grow their expertise and career at as rapid a pace as suits them. This position is open to full time, part time, and internship/co-op applicants. RESPONSIBILITIES This candidate will have the opportunity to execute specific electrical design tasks for various project types while working and coordinating with clients and design leads from all disciplines. This candidate shall have the ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and with clients while being able to meet scheduled project deadlines. They will be a self-starter not afraid to do independent research in addition to directly-assigned project work in order to further their career growth. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: • Assist with the design and drawing of electrical infrastructure for mission critical buildings and campuses including medium voltage distribution; highly redundant power systems including various redundancy topologies such as distributed and block redundant; on-site generation and UPS backup; typical building systems such as small power, lighting, grounding, and fire alarm., • Assist with coordination between internal and external disciplines for required electrical power connections to equipment., • Review and understand client standards, design criteria, applicable codes, and best practices and work with senior engineers to understand how they impact the design of each project., • Review and gain an understanding of local and national construction codes and project specifications to grow a broader understanding of the construction process., • Utilize Autodesk Revit on a daily basis to produce detailed design documents., • Have experience with the use of Microsoft tools such as Word, Power Point, Excel, and Teams., • Meet project deadlines, including working necessary hours to complete major deliverables., • Have the ability to travel when required to project sites and/or meetings (less than 10% travel)., • Have the ability to clearly communicate with others in both written and spoken forms., • Be willing to take direction from senior and mid-level engineers and designers in order to execute delivery of specific design elements., • Be an active participant in training and mentoring opportunities in order to grow knowledge and capabilities., • 2 or 4-year degree in electrical engineering or electrical engineering technology preferred, electrical construction experience with a drafting certification will be considered as well., • Past internship, co-op, or work experience in consulting engineering role is a plus., • Experience working in the construction industry is a plus., • Experience using Revit in either an educational or professional context is a plus. Job DescriptionPOSITION SUMMARYThe Advocacy & Prevention Specialist is responsible for assisting survivors in dealing with the immediate and long-term impact of victimization, as well as working in the community to offer programming intended to prevent sexual violence. The Specialist will also be the designated campus advocate working with student survivors going through the Title IX processes, acting as advisor of choice when requested. In addition to direct services to a caseload of clients, the Specialist is responsible for providing high-quality prevention education to youth, adults, and professionals with the goal of reducing sexual assault and other forms of violence, by promoting bystander intervention, and increasing awareness of resources for survivors of sexual assault and their loved ones. The Specialist position requires an interest and comfort with public speaking and education in school, campus, community, and professional settings. The Specialist is also responsible for coverage of the Survivor Support Services (SSS) 24/7 hotline which will include mandatory after-hours on-call time. Flexibility in work schedule is essential; some evenings and weekends required. This is a full-time community-facing position and involves travel within the region about 50% of the time. Conduct Housing Risk Assessments, HUD Inspections, Eligibility Verification, and other required documentation on a pre-determined schedule., • Assure client access to applicable financial assistance to maintain housing stability. Assist client with application process and ongoing documentation needs for rent and utility assistance, and other subsidies. Assist clients with proactive planning to maintain housing., • Case conference with other agencies and Alliance for Positive Health staff regarding mutual clients at least quarterly. Coordinate with other providers to ensure that clients are referred to needed services, follow up on identified goals, provide assistance in achieving them and reduce duplication of effort., • Collect, maintain, and report up to date client health indicators, contact, and history data. Utilize indicator data to address barriers and improve individual health outcomes. Implement strategies to communicate client health information among internal and external interdisciplinary teams., • Conduct program promotion and client recruitment outreach to ensure program deliverables are met.
