Job Description Expert Systems Architect – Google Cloud Platform Consultant Location: Albany, New York Work Arrangement: Hybrid Employment Type: Full-Time W-2 Consulting Assignment Pay Range: $65–$69 per hour Sponsorship: Not available Corp-to-Corp and 1099: Not available William W. Professional Staffing LLC is seeking an experienced Expert Systems Architect – Google Cloud Platform Consultant to support a long-term public-sector technology-modernization initiative in Albany, New York. The selected consultant will design, implement, secure and support scalable enterprise solutions within Google Cloud Platform. This role requires extensive hands-on GCP experience, advanced cloud-architecture expertise and the ability to provide technical leadership to large development and operations teams. This is a hybrid consulting assignment. The selected consultant must be available to attend required onsite meetings and work sessions in Albany. A fully remote arrangement is not available. Responsibilities Cloud Architecture and Solution Design • Design secure, scalable, reliable and highly available Google Cloud Platform solutions., • Translate business and technical requirements into high-level and detailed architecture designs., • Select appropriate GCP services for specific technical and business use cases., • Develop network topologies, data-flow diagrams, security controls and disaster-recovery strategies., • Establish architecture standards for performance, security, reliability and cost optimization., • Lead architecture reviews and provide recommendations to technical and business stakeholders. GCP Implementation and Deployment • Oversee the implementation and deployment of cloud applications and infrastructure., • Configure and manage Google Compute Engine, Google Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Storage, BigQuery, Cloud SQL, Cloud Functions and related services., • Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or Google Cloud Deployment Manager., • Implement CI/CD pipelines for automated application and infrastructure deployment., • Configure and support virtual machines, containers, databases, storage and networking components., • Ensure consistency across development, testing, staging and production environments. Security and Compliance • Design and implement identity and access management, network security, encryption and threat-detection controls., • Support cloud-security reviews, vulnerability assessments and remediation activities., • Work with authorized security teams to address compliance and risk-management requirements., • Support environments governed by IRS Publication 1075, HIPAA, PCI DSS or comparable regulatory standards., • Document security controls, system dependencies and risk-mitigation measures. Performance and Cost Optimization • Monitor the performance of cloud applications and infrastructure., • Identify performance bottlenecks and implement corrective solutions., • Develop cloud-cost management and optimization strategies., • Perform resource rightsizing, capacity planning and cost-allocation analysis., • Recommend improvements to system availability, resilience and operating efficiency. Technical Leadership • Provide technical direction to development, infrastructure and operations teams., • Mentor engineers and share advanced knowledge of GCP services and cloud architecture., • Collaborate with business analysts, project managers, developers, security professionals and client stakeholders., • Translate business needs into secure and maintainable technical solutions., • Guide technical teams through implementation, deployment, troubleshooting and production support. Troubleshooting and Production Support • Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues involving GCP services, applications, networking and infrastructure., • Conduct root-cause analysis and implement sustainable corrective actions., • Provide ongoing support and maintenance for deployed solutions., • Participate in critical-incident response and on-call rotations when required. Technical Documentation • Create and maintain architecture diagrams, technical designs and implementation procedures., • Document network designs, security controls, data flows and disaster-recovery strategies., • Maintain accurate operational, deployment and support documentation. Required Qualifications • At least 84 months of senior-level information-technology experience, including experience guiding large teams or serving as a recognized subject-matter expert., • At least 72 months of experience designing secure, scalable and reliable cloud solutions based on client-specific requirements., • At least 84 months of hands-on Google Cloud Platform experience., • At least 84 months of experience implementing and deploying cloud solutions using Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD pipelines., • At least 84 months of experience configuring or managing GCP compute, storage, database, container and networking services., • At least 84 months of cloud-security experience, including IAM, network security, data encryption and threat detection., • At least 84 months of experience monitoring and optimizing cloud infrastructure performance and costs., • At least 60 months of technical-leadership and engineering-mentorship experience., • At least 84 months of cloud troubleshooting, production support and incident-response experience., • At least 60 months of experience preparing technical architecture and implementation documentation., • Permanent authorization to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship., • Ability to comply with the required hybrid work schedule in Albany., • Strong written, verbal, analytical and stakeholder-management skills. Final compensation will depend on the consultant’s qualifications, experience and applicable employment factors. This opportunity is available on a W-2 basis only. Corp-to-Corp, 1099 and third-party arrangements are not available. Employment sponsorship will not be provided. Eligible consultants may have access to employee benefits based on assignment status and plan requirements.
