Job Description Job Title: Avionics Technician – UH-60 Job Description This role focuses on performing avionics installations, modifications, troubleshooting, and repairs on Sikorsky UH-60 helicopters and related platforms. The technician applies strong helicopter avionics and electrical systems expertise in a structured hangar environment while adhering to strict safety, quality, and documentation standards. Responsibilities • Perform avionics installations and modifications on Sikorsky UH-60 helicopters, including wiring, routing, and integration of avionics systems., • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair helicopter avionics and electrical systems to resolve discrepancies and ensure airworthiness., • Interpret and work from technical data, wiring diagrams, schematics, maintenance manuals, and modification instructions., • Install, inspect, and test avionics electrical systems to verify proper operation and compliance with applicable standards., • Perform aircraft electrical work associated with avionics systems, including terminations, harness fabrication, and system checks., • Support modification and installation projects on additional helicopter platforms such as UH-60, SH-60, CH-47, CH-53, or similar aircraft as needed., • Use personal tools that are properly etched and shadowed, maintaining accountability and organization in accordance with tool control procedures., • Follow established safety procedures, including the use of steel toe boots and appropriate work attire while operating in a hangar environment., • Collaborate with other technicians and team members to complete projects on schedule and meet quality and performance objectives., • Maintain accurate records of work performed, including documentation of repairs, installations, and modifications., • Protect sensitive information and comply with all requirements associated with holding and maintaining a secret security clearance. Essential Skills • Minimum of 4 years of Sikorsky avionics experience on aircraft., • Hands-on experience with helicopter avionics and aircraft electrical systems., • History of working on UH-60, SH-60, CH-47, CH-53, or similar helicopter platforms., • Experience performing avionics modification, installation, and repair., • Ability to troubleshoot and repair avionics electrical systems and components., • Military aviation maintenance experience, such as 15F or 15N, or similar military occupational specialties., • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics., • Ownership of a complete personal tool set that is etched and shadowed for tool control., • Ability to secure and maintain a secret security clearance., • Capability to work safely in a hangar environment while wearing steel toe boots and following established safety practices. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Prior experience with Sikorsky and other major helicopter manufacturers’ avionics systems., • Familiarity with avionics installation practices in a modification or retrofit environment., • Experience with aircraft electrical troubleshooting in Army or other military helicopter units., • Experience in helicopter avionics repair, including both line maintenance and deeper component-level work., • Exposure to structured maintenance programs and quality standards in a military or defense-related setting. Work Environment Work takes place in a climate-controlled hangar focused on helicopter maintenance and modification. The standard schedule is first shift, Monday through Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. This is a 6-month contract-to-hire opportunity. The role involves hands-on work around aircraft, avionics systems, and electrical components, with an emphasis on tool control and adherence to safety procedures. Required attire includes a T-shirt, work pants, and steel toe boots. The environment is structured and process-driven, supporting complex avionics installations and repairs on Sikorsky UH-60 and related helicopter platforms. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lakehurst, NJ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $38.00/hr.
