Job Description A Behavioral Health Technician Supervisor provides leadership, operational oversight, and regulatory accountability to ensure individuals receive safe, effective, and compassionate care within a licensed behavioral health setting. This role supports patient wellness, safety, and functionality in alignment with Joint Commission (JCAHO) standards, Arizona Department of Health Services (AZDHS) requirements, and internal organizational procedures. The Supervisor ensures continuity of care through active monitoring, Q30-minute safety rounds, accurate patient assessments, and by implementing directives from clinical, medical, and leadership teams. The position promotes patient advocacy, ethical conduct, and adherence to all documentation, safety, and care standards required by JCAHO, AZDHS, and internal policy. In addition to patient-care responsibilities, the Behavioral Health Technician Supervisor provides leadership and supervision to Junior Behavioral Health Support Specialists to ensure consistent operational performance across assigned residences. Core leadership responsibilities include: * Maintaining a safe and therapeutic physical environment in accordance with JCAHO Environment of Care expectations and AZDHS licensure requirements. * Ensuring that all daily systems, documentation, and safety processes are completed timely and accurately, including observation rounds, incident reporting, medication-support tasks (within scope), and environmental reviews. * Monitoring staff performance to ensure compliance with internal policy, patient safety practices, infection prevention procedures, emergency readiness, and the standards governing licensed behavioral health facilities. * Supporting survey readiness by validating that records, logs, forms, and evidence of care are complete, organized, current, and accessible for internal audits or external survey review. The Supervisor serves as a key operational leader responsible for reinforcing regulatory standards, coaching team members, addressing real-time performance gaps, and upholding the highest expectations for patient safety, ethical conduct, and quality of care. JOB DUTIES INCLUDE: • Check emails throughout shift to keep up on important information, • Conduct 30 min rounds and log client locations, • Assisting in client Medpass/Vitals, • Conduct a client vote the weekend outing, • Ensure that all Environment of Care documentation is completed accurately in Simplifyance and manually every month, • Complete new client housing Intakes, • Completing all tasks on the Shift Checklist and marking off when completed, • Maintain the vehicle logs, • Complete Communication Log by the end of the shift, • Spending time with clients & show presence in home, • Washing house laundry if needed (linens, towels etc.), • Maintaining empty beds clean, made, and prepared for new intakes, • Manage other BHSS staffing, including scheduling, covering shifts if needed (covering PTO/call-outs), • Maintain the house and keep it inspection-ready, • Conducting new staff training and completing the skills/knowledge Verification Form, • Checking and confirming that all staff are completing daily duties, • Inform upper leadership of any staff concerns, patient concerns, or maintenance issues MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: * One year of experience in mental health, substance abuse, and case management * One year of leadership experience is required * Strong verbal and written communication skills * Shift flexibility * Ability to read, analyze, and interpret emails, letters, policies, procedures, etc. * Ability to build rapport with clients * Self-motivated and self-directed * High level of patience * Must have a valid Arizona Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card * Must have a valid Driver's License * Must have a high school diploma or GED * Must be 21 years of age or older * Must have Knowledge of Windows | Basic Email | Microsoft Word | Timekeeping software | Google & basic computer navigation skills. * Must hold an active CPR/First-Aid/AED certification * If applicable, must have one year of maintained sobriety * Must be able to pass a drug test PHYSICAL DEMANDS: * Must have reasonable ability to do the following: * Stand, walk, and sit during assigned shift hours * Be able to assess a patient as part of a physical exam manually * Reach, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl * Speak and have access to the special senses within normal limits (hear, taste, smell, etc.) as it applies to patient care * Must be capable of lifting up to 20lbs * Maintain the ability to handle patient belongings with gloved hands manually * The physical demands described here are representative of those that an employee must meet to perform the essential functions of this position successfully.
