Job Description Monday-Friday(Saturdays when needed) 6am-2:30pm Job Summary: Under general direction, this position is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources Department, including recruitment; onboarding; administering pay, benefits, and leave; performance management; training; administering and enforcing policies and practices; and other related duties as assigned. The Human Resource Generalist plays a crucial role in supporting the HR Department and ensuring that the company operates smoothly and efficiently. This position reports directly to and works under the guidance of the Human Resource Manager. Duties/Responsibilities: • Performs routing tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; data management ; training; policies and practices; occupational health and safety; and training and development., • Conducts a variety of recruiting activities; coordinates job postings and recruiting advertisements; receives and screens applications; schedules interviews; develops screening tools and interview questions; conducts interviews; process criminal history investigations; and process drug testing checks. Collaborate with department managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings and facilitate the onboarding of new employees. Conducts or acquires drug testing and background checks and employee eligibility verifications., • Administer benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave policies and reconcile benefit plans., • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance. Ensure that personnel adhere to employment laws and regulations., • Responds to inquires concerning company policies, benefits, and/or other personnel matters., • Maintain accurate confidential and non-confidential employees' records and documentation and job descriptions. Review job descriptions and monitor language for consistency with job families, research industry standards in relation to basic job requirements., • Implementing off boarding, exit interviews, and employee recognition programs, and determining ways to reduce retention., • Coordinates processes for employees requesting Reasonable Accommodation, Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) leave, workers' compensation leave and other leave as applicable., • Assist in developing and implementing company-wide training on personnel policies, benefits, open enrollment, and other topis to enhance employees skills and performance. Reviews, tracks and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training. Schedules training; posts training schedules and sign-up sheets; and organizes special supplemental training classes as necessary., • Processes email for HR Department, handles verifications of employment and employment related inquires from applicants, employees, and management., • Performs a variety of general accounting duties such as employees' expenses and timesheets and prepares biweekly payroll for processing., • Draft, prepare, and maintain a variety of human resources, safety, and other company records, presentations, newsletters, and documents on HR Department activities., • May assist with constructive and timely performance evaluations., • Create and update HR, Safety and other company related policies and procedures to align with best practices and legal requirements., • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations. Required skills and qualifications • Aptitude for problem-solving and thorough knowledge of HR procedures and policies, • Advanced knowledge of HRIS and ability to learn new technical systems, when necessary, • Knowledgeable with human resources principles, practices, and policies., • Excellent verbal and written communication skills., • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills., • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail., • Excellent data entry and records management skills., • Coordinating and conducting training classes., • Proficiency with Microsoft Office., • Able to write in plain language, using correct spelling, grammar, and appropriate formatting., • Able to adapt to changing business needs, conditions, priorities and work responsibilities., • Able to make timely, logical decisions, solve problems, and prioritize work appropriately., • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines., • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
