Job DescriptionJob Title: Electrical ForemanJob Description The Electrical Foreman oversees commercial electrical installations on construction sites, performing hands-on work such as bending pipe, installing light fixtures, pulling wire, wiring commercial outlets, and troubleshooting electrical issues. This role also requires accurately reading and interpreting blueprints and electrical prints to ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications. Responsibilities • Bend electrical conduit and pipe to specified measurements for commercial installations., • Install a variety of light fixtures in accordance with project plans and electrical codes., • Pull wire through conduit and raceways to support power and lighting systems., • Wire commercial outlets and related devices to meet project requirements., • Read and interpret electrical prints and blueprints to plan and execute installations., • Troubleshoot electrical systems, circuits, and equipment to identify and resolve issues., • Coordinate daily tasks with a team of electricians to maintain project schedules., • Work independently when required, ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards., • Support the construction of an assisted living facility from the ground up, including both exterior and interior electrical work., • Maintain proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and comply with all site safety protocols.Essential Skills, • Hands-on experience with electrical work in commercial construction environments., • Proficiency in bending pipe and conduit for electrical installations., • Strong ability to pull wire and perform wire pulling tasks safely and efficiently., • Experience installing a wide range of light fixtures in commercial settings., • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical prints accurately., • Demonstrated troubleshooting skills for electrical systems and equipment., • Capability to wire commercial outlets and related electrical devices., • Ability to work independently and manage assigned tasks with minimal supervision., • OSHA 10 certification (OSHA 30 preferred).Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Completion of trade school or formal electrical training is preferred., • Experience working as a junior electrician or in a similar role on commercial projects., • Familiarity with conduit bending, blueprint reading, and commercial construction practices., • Interest in growing into junior or lead mechanic roles over time., • Strong teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with a crew of electricians.Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based on a commercial construction site for an assisted living facility in Commack, involving both outdoor and indoor work as the building is constructed from the ground up. You will work as part of a team of approximately five electricians led by a foreman. The environment includes exposure to varying weather conditions, including cold temperatures, and requires wearing weather-appropriate clothing and full PPE at all times. Standard working hours are approximately 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and projects are local to the Long Island area, minimizing long commutes and extended travel. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Commack, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
