Job DescriptionDescriptionJoin our amazing team as our newest Veterinary Assistant! Our focus is on being a place of comfort for our clients and pets, in sickness and in health. You will have an open door for growth opportunities ranging from becoming a veterinary technician, specialty medicine, and even future management positions! This practice is a 24-hour location with a lot going on throughout the day as well as the night. Not only will you build relationships with the animals, but you’ll also form lasting connections with our clients. ✨ We are in need of two full-time workers. Candidates must be available to work Saturdays Open Shifts: • M — 12:00p-8:30p / 8:00a-3:00p, • T — 3:00p-8:30p, • W — 12:00p-8:30p, • TH — 3:00p-8:30p, • Able to work and multitask in a fast-paced environment, • Comfortable handling animals of all species and sizes, • Knowledge of different animal medications, • Ability to build strong relationships with clients and peers Your day-to-day responsibilities will include: • Caring for special needs borders such as diabetics, geriatrics, epileptics, etc., • Restraining a variety of canine, feline, and exotic species for the doctors and technicians, • Cleaning (Sweeping, Mopping, cages, dishes, garbage, surgical site, dental Suite, etc.), • Administering oral medications, • Documentation of general well-being of in-hospital patients and boarders, • Assisting with Er protocol, ensuring ER table is prepared for crashing patients, • Preparing surgical material in coordination with the surgical handbook (ensure materials are sterilized and prepared for procedures), • Assisting LVTs with TPRs & blood pressures. examining incisions for cleanliness and closure, • Triaging emergency appointments in coordination with the ER doctor on-premises., • Organized, • Works well with others, • Able to follow directions, • Able to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment, • Neat, clean, and adheres to WHAH uniform, • Individuals with extreme willingness to learn, and with great love for animals, • 1 year of general practice or emergency veterinary experience, • Must be able to stand, lift, and do work duties for a minimum of 8 hours, • Lifting of large boxes, dog food, and a variety of canine and feline species up to 50 lbs., • Ability to write neatly, communicate well with others, attend staff meetings, and adhere to training programs, • Paid Time Off (PTO), • Health Insurance, • Dental Insurance, • Vision insurance, • Employee discounts, • Flexible schedules, • 401K with company match, • Career development and training
