Job Description Description North Jersey Federal Credit Union is seeking a talented, exceptional, and enthusiastic go-getter to join our team as a Member Relationship Specialist (Universal Banker). This unique, hybrid role combines traditional sales and service responsibilities with a rewarding financial literacy mentorship opportunity in a local high school. Key Responsibilities This position requires a dynamic individual who can manage dual responsibilities across two locations: High School Satellite Branch (3 Days/Week) At the Weehawken High School satellite branch (located at 53 Liberty Pl, Weehawken, NJ 07086), you will serve as the branch lead, overseeing operations while primarily acting as a mentor and educator to participating students. * Financial Literacy Education & Mentorship: Guide and instruct high school student interns on the fundamentals of credit union operations, including how to accurately process teller transactions and open new accounts. * Branch Operations: Oversee the daily opening and closing of the branch, including the daily reconciliation of the ATM, vault, cash drawers, and teller work. * Member Service: Assist any high school faculty, staff, or student members with basic transactions, sales, and servicing of credit union products, ensuring all essential controls and safeguards are maintained. Elmwood Park Branch (2 Days/Week) At your home branch, you will focus on comprehensive sales and service activities to support the credit union's growth goals: * Sales & Servicing: Be responsible for the sales and servicing of all credit union products and services, including loans, deposits, and new memberships. * Transaction Processing: Conduct all teller and cash vault transactions accurately and efficiently. * Goal Achievement: Work collaboratively with the operations and sales team to achieve strategic goals in the areas of loan, membership, and deposit growth. * Product Knowledge: Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the credit union’s products, services, and current promotions to provide exceptional service. Sales, Service, and Operational Excellence The Member Relationship Specialist is responsible for providing exceptional service and maintaining operational efficiency by performing the following duties: * Meet or exceed established monthly referral and sales goals for loans, membership, and deposit growth. * Evaluate the needs of potential members and offer appropriate financial products and services. * Actively cross-sell/educate on Credit Union products and services, including analyzing credit bureau reports to identify opportunities. * Must have a thorough understanding of the member’s transaction requirements and be able to effectively communicate all available options to them. * Maintains current Credit Union products and service knowledge. * Process in-person & electronic loan applications by collecting all necessary loan documentation for review by underwriters and completing the loan closing. * Explain the loan process to members, including loan options, insurance requirements, options on loan products, loan policies, interest rates, payoffs, etc. * Process member service transactions in an accurate and timely manner on savings, checking, certificates, individual retirement accounts, loans, etc. * Accurately process transactions and new account openings in a timely and professional manner. * Process standard teller transactions in an accurate and timely manner (e.g., deposits, withdrawals, payments, transfers, check cashing, negotiable purchasing, etc.). * Process and validate the accuracy of coin and currency amounts related to incoming and outgoing cash shipments. * Assist with opening and closing procedures, balancing/loading the ATM/TCR, teller cash box, coin machine, negotiables, vault, etc. * Process assigned reports and/or job duties in an accurate and timely manner. * Complies and maintains current knowledge of all Credit Union policies and procedures.
