Job Description Motor Assistance Vehicle Operator (MAVO)for School Transportation SUMMARY: The Motor Assistance Vehicle Operator (MAVO) is responsible for all aspects of patients’ care within the scope of certification. Essential Job Functions Ø The Motor Assistance Vehicle Operator (MAVO) is an integral part of the Virgo transportation team. Ø In this position the MAVO transports ambulatory/wheelchair patients to and from residences to school and then return them. Ø Some of the patients are able to ambulate to our vehicles while other must be moved in their wheelchairs, or are able to move on their electric scooters. No person is to ride the lift while standing, or on the electric scooter. The patients are placed in a wheelchair to go up on the lift, and they are moved inside and secured to the vehicle either on the bench seat or in the wheelchair. Should there be an aide or family member accompanying the patient, they must be secured in the vehicle as well. Ø The MAVO must check to see if any belongings or paperwork must accompany the patient for the transport, and then ensure that it gets dropped off with the patient. For each trip the appropriate documentation must be filled out, and where required, obtain the necessary signatures from the patient and /or facility. In the event monies are to be collected at time of service, a receipt is to be filled out and a copy given to the patient, or the person accompanying the patient. Ø The MAVO must be capable of good oral communications as for every leg of the trip dispatch must be communicated with, as to alert them to the status of the transport. In addition, should any incident occur dispatch must be notified in a timely manner. Ø The vehicle being used for any particular shift must be checked both prior and post usage for mechanical operations, fluids, and general cleanliness. Ø The MAVO must be able to utilize maps in order to locate facilities or residences that they are not aware of, with the assistance of dispatch. Job Description Motor Assistance Vehicle Technician (MAVT)/ Motor Assistance Vehicle Operator (MAVO) SUMMARY: The Motor Assistance Vehicle Technician/Operator (MAVT/MAVO) is responsible for all aspects of patients’ care within the scope of certification. Essential Job Functions The Motor Assistance Vehicle Technician/Operator (MAVT/MAVO) is an integral part of the Virgo transportation team. In this position the MAVT/MAVO transports ambulatory patients to and from residences and or skilled nursing facilities to medical treatments and or appointments, and then return them. Some of the patients are able to ambulate to our vehicles while other must be moved in their wheelchairs, or are able to move on their electric scooters. No person is to ride the lift while standing, or on the electric scooter. The patients are placed in a wheelchair to go up on the lift, and they are moved inside and secured to the vehicle either on the bench seat or in the wheelchair. Should there be an aide or family member accompanying the patient, they must be secured in the vehicle as well. The MAVT/MAVO must check to see if any belongings or paperwork must accompany the patient for the transport, and then ensure that it gets dropped off with the patient. For each trip the appropriate documentation must be filled out, and where required, obtain the necessary signatures from the patient and /or facility. In the event monies are to be collected at time of service, a receipt is to be filled out and a copy given to the patient, or the person accompanying the patient. The MAVT/MAVO must be capable of good oral communications as for every leg of the trip dispatch must be communicated with, as to alert them to the status of the transport. In addition should any incident occur dispatch must be notified in a timely manner. The vehicle being used for any particular shift must be checked both prior and post usage for mechanical operations, fluids, and general cleanliness. The MAVT/MAVO must be able to utilize maps in order to locate facilities or residences that they are not aware of, with the assistance of dispatch. At the conclusion of the MAVT’s/MAVO's shift they must turn in the appropriate paperwork, and monies collected. POSITION OVERVIEW: Under the supervision of the Director of Nursing, the RN Manager is responsible for overseeing the assessment, coordination, implementation, and management of the care and services of residents using the standards and guidelines set forth by the Department of Health, NYS Board of Nursing, and Casa Promesa. The RN Manager is as a member of the interdisciplinary team and provides support and information (verbal/written) to leadership about facility operations. KEY ESSENTIALS: • Complete admissions assessments and reassessment on all patients., • Support and promote the philosophy, objective, policies and procedures of Casa Promesa., • Responsible for providing leadership and supervision to the nursing staff, housekeeping, and security., • Works closely with medical support staff to ensure resident needs are met., • Will greet admitted patients and prepare them for physical examination and treatment and document admissions for Director of Nursing., • Will maintain medical supplies and equipment and work closely with Unit Clerk to ensure par levels., • Provides education as indicated after assessing the learning needs of the patient to staff members., • Assess the patient’s physical and psycho social condition on an ongoing basisthroughout the continuum of care. Must alert Director of Nursing and Medical Director of all changes., • Utilize manual and automated information systems to improve efficiency and effect productivity. Accurately records patient information in the electronic medical records system and patient medical record. (VIP) is the only culturally specific non-profit organization in New York City serving Latinx survivors of domestic and sexual violence, the vast majority of whom are immigrants. Founded as a grassroots response to intimate partner violence and sexual assault, VIP has consistently centered survivors in its leadership and fostered a staff community that reflects the rich national, ethnic, and racial diversity of the communities it serves. Today, VIP operates two community-based programs serving the Bronx, Manhattan, and Queens; four housing programs, including two shelters, Rapid Re-Housing, and Home+; a bilingual helpline; and innovative programs focused on economic justice, sexual violence, restorative justice, and child and adolescent services. The Home + Case Manager will help the Home+ program which is designed to support non-residential domestic violence programs expand their menu of options to enhance the ability of survivors to stay safer in their homes. Orders of protection, police reports or other agency or system involvement are not required for clients to be eligible for any of the services in the Home+ program.
