Position Summary The Workforce Service Specialist is a vital member of the workforce team, supporting older adults as they navigate today’s evolving, tech-driven job market. This full-time role emphasizes workforce facilitation, individualized support, and employment readiness. The ideal candidate is a dynamic and compassionate facilitator committed to workforce equity, with expertise in digital literacy, curriculum development, case management, and employer engagement. Primary Responsibilities Workforce Facilitation & Instruction: • Lead engaging job readiness workshops designed for older adults, focusing on digital literacy, career exploration, and modern job search strategies., • Develop and maintain clear, accessible instructional materials, including PowerPoint or Google Slides presentations and activity handouts., • Conduct one-on-one appointments to assess participant goals, provide resume support, assist with job applications, and offer interview coaching., • Complete benefit screenings and connect individuals with supportive services to address barriers to employment., • Build and sustain relationships with employers in sectors relevant to older adults., • Coordinate job leads, interviews, and align services to meet current labor market demands., • Maintain accurate records of all participant interactions, service plans, and progress in the CRM database., • Work collaboratively with LSOC staff to ensure integrated service delivery, special events, and community programming., • Promote a welcoming, respectful environment that empowers participants through trust and dignity. Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, Adult Education, or related field., • 2+ years of experience in workforce development, career counseling, or adult education; some experience with older adults preferred., • Skilled in facilitating job readiness workshops and developing accessible instructional materials (e.g., PowerPoint, Google Slides, Canva, handouts)., • Proficient in teaching digital literacy and navigating online job platforms., • Strong case management skills, including assessments, benefit screenings, and employment planning., • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills., • Comfortable using databases and Microsoft Office Suite., • Knowledge of labor market trends and employer engagement strategies., • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic IT skills is required., • Knowledge of workforce issues affecting older adults is highly desirable.
