Delivery Driver Associate Responsibilities: * Report to DNK5 Warehouse in Bayonne, NJ * Prepare your truck for the day of deliveries: * Loading up the truck with packages (up to 50 lbs) * Collecting all equipment needed for your walkers (devices, tablet, hand carts, bungee chords, uniforms, etc.) * Communicating with Dispatcher on Duty * Communicate with your truck/walkers on meeting location and ETA * Once parked in NYC, you will meet your walkers and set them up for their day, distributing routes, helping them load up hand carts, managing their clock in/outs, troubleshooting any issues, tracking their deliveries throughout the day and making provisions to ensure your truck gets finished and all packages are delivered * Communicate constantly throughout the day with your team to ensure you have a successful day as a truck – you are the leader of the truck * Communicate throughout the day with Dispatcher on Duty with any issues, if you need assistance or help from other trucks, report packages that are missing or marked incorrectly, etc. * You are solely responsible for the devices – you must keep track of which phone each walker has and ensure you return back to the station with all devices at the end of the day * Be a team player, a leader and help boost morale while out in the field – the walkers are working tirelessly on foot to deliver all the packages, you are there to encourage them and help them/coach them through it – you are a team with the same goal. * Retrieve all equipment back from the walkers at the end of the shift * Return back to the station and complete all end of shift duties including cleaning out the cab of the truck, restocking necessities for next day, post-trip inspections, returning all devices, keys and equipment back to our lockers, putting all devices back on the charges, returning all packages that are marked correctly, and updating the Dispatcher on Duty with any issues (broken equipment, any issues with walkers, etc.) * Maintain a positive, helpful, respectful and professional attitude while working with fellow drivers, management, walkers and Amazon Warehouse staff * You can expect to work between 8-10 hours a day * You can expect to be working during the day in the general area of Downtown Manhattan (Soho, Tribeca, Nolita) * We provide on-the-job training so that all of our employees feel confident in their job duties Delivery Driver Associate Requirements: * Must be 21 years or older * Must have a valid and clean driver's license within the state of employment (CDL not required) * DOT Medical Card is required (Very easy to obtain, we will let you know the steps) * Must be able to operate and navigate a delivery truck, GVWR 10,000 lbs. to 26,000 lbs. * Must be able to move boxes up to 50 lbs., with or without reasonable accommodation * Must consent to a drug screening * Must be able to read and speak English, for safety reasons * Must have good communication skills and the ability to work well with customers * Must have familiarity with a smart phone/tablet as you will need to communicate constantly with your walkers/dispatchers and use digital apps for delivering packages/tracking your truck’s progress throughout the day * Must have a positive, can-do attitude and be a team player. The Full-Time Food Rescue Driver coordinates and conducts pick-ups of donated food and other items for NYCP's food pantry and hot meal programs. The Full-Time Food Rescue Driver also provides transportation for special events, participates in food drives, and provides program support for the pantry and meal programs to distribute food to individuals and families in need. The Full-Time Food Rescue Driver will report to the Food Sourcing Manager at the 1285 Oak Point Ave, Bronx, NY 10474 location. The schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 8 am - 4 pm, 1 hour lunch break. This is a Full-Time position, 35 hours a week, non-exempt. Responsibilities: * Pick up prepared food, fresh produce, and other grocery items from corporate partners, schools, and religious organizations, including cafeterias, restaurants, grocery retailers, and wholesale distributors. * Receive and carry out daily and ongoing pick-up and drop-off driving assignments through email or through an electronic donation system, using agency smartphones or tablets. * Conduct weekly pick-up of donations from partners using a box truck or similar vehicle. * Use hand trucks, pallet jacks, and other light machinery to carry out loading and unloading. * Provide proactive communication through calls, texts, and emails and give updates about pick-up dates and times to donors to ensure pick-ups/drop-offs go smoothly. * Provide excellent customer service and donor management and engagement to ensure repeated donations for the pantry and hot meals program. * Properly weigh, date, and transport all food donations according to NYC food handling standards. * Unload and appropriately store all food donation items within NY Common Pantry food storage areas. * Maintain a temperature log for ready-to-eat food to ensure safe temperatures are maintained during transport. * Complete donation tracking forms with accurate weight, date, item description, and donor information. * Regularly log and submit donation tracking information to the Food Procurement Coordinator and enter it into electronic third-party donor systems. * Ensure that donated food is in acceptable condition for re-use. * Maintain relationships with front-line employees of companies donating food and promote NY Common Pantry to food donors. * Guide volunteers assisting with deliveries and storage. * Other Responsibilities as assigned.
