PROGRAM BACKGROUND: Mercy First partnered with ACS to establish a new Clinical Support Program to serve families experiencing challenges with unmet clinical needs in the borough of Queens. The Clinical Support program is an interdisciplinary team of licensed clinicians and support staff, all of whom support families navigating challenges in the areas of mental health, addiction, and IPV. The Clinical Support team works with CPS Teams and/or directly with impacted families to ensure optimal service delivery. The team assists with family engagement approaches, with assessing/screening for the most pressing needs, and with identifying and facilitating connections to relevant resources. POSITION SUMMARY: The trainer will report to the Program Director and will hold a related master’s degree with experience in providing direct services as well as developing and presenting training through needs assessments. The trainer must have experience providing direct, in person training, on such topics as mental health, intimate partner violence, health, safety and substance abuse. Trainers must be able to present ACS-developed trainings which may include policy initiatives. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: • A minimum of related master’s degree with experience in direct services, developing and presenting training., • Strong training development skills in the areas of mental health, IPV and substance abuse., • Strong research, development and presentation skills for all training purposes. RESPONSIBILITIES: • The Training Coordinator will report to the Clinical Support Program director and work on developing, scheduling and coordinating relevant staff training throughout the calendar year., • Must be comfortable with the use of Microsoft Word, Excell, etc., and accessing electronic platforms such as Connections and other sites for training purposes., • The Training Coordinator will attend and conduct all relevant training (in-person & virtual), required for the role and interface between ACS and program staff., • The Training Coordinator will offer and implement training opportunities for continuing staff development in the areas of mental health, IPV and substance abuse.
