What is a Stem Specialist: In this role, you will be critical to the successful operation of the Summer Day Camp program. Specialists are responsible for leading Summer activities for children and teens at New York Edge program sites. The STEM Specialist is responsible for designing and leading hands-on, engaging activities that promote learning in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). They inspire curiosity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills among students through interactive projects, experiments, and challenges. In this role you will: * Build strong relationships with and among students * Learn and facilitate STEM curriculum including: Math, Robotics, Science, Coding and Engineering. * Teach or co-lead daily activities * Establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects, and communicate those objectives to students * Participate in ongoing professional development activities * Prepare materials for daily activities * Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and interests * And other duties as may be assigned.
