Job Description Job Title: Oncology Clinical Research Nurse We are seeking a dedicated Clinical Research Nurse to join our dynamic team in a Phase One clinical research environment. This role involves coordinating and overseeing the clinical operations of trials, while participating in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care in clinical research studies. Responsibilities • See patients, screen, and sign patients while thoroughly reading protocols., • Assist the principal investigator in preparing proposed clinical trials, including reviewing trial protocols and notifying departments providing resources., • Submit protocol revisions, informed consents, and adverse events to the appropriate IRB in a timely manner., • Act as a liaison between principal investigators and sub-investigators on regulatory issues., • Review studies for feasibility and evaluate potential competition with other protocols., • Recruit, evaluate, and schedule study patients, ensuring medical records are complete with laboratory test results and progress documentation., • Instruct patients, caregivers, and staff on patient care, available trials, treatments, and side effects., • Assist in the consent process, ensuring patients understand clinical trials and obtain written informed consent., • Document study patients' medical history and perform nursing assessments to monitor progress., • Evaluate and develop patient education materials and provide instructions on drug administration., • Coordinate research activities, including scheduling tests and exams, and perform clinical duties such as EKGs and processing blood samples., • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on each patient participating in a clinical trial., • Prepare for and assist with sponsor monitor site visits, ensuring supporting documentation is available., • 3-5 years of clinical nursing experience., • Oncology nursing experience required, • Graduate of a NLN/AACN accredited program in nursing., • Adherence to American Nurses Association standards., • BSN degree preferred., • Experience with FDA regulatory processes, IND reporting, and Microsoft Office Suite., • NJ State Professional Registered Nurse License. The work environment is fast-paced, high volume, and high pressure, requiring effectiveness in diverse and dynamic settings. Flexible work hours are offered, typically consisting of four 10-hour days from 7 AM to 6 PM, with a set start time chosen in coordination with the team.
