We are seeking a Compliance Specialist-Affordable Housing to join the HumanGood team. This position develops, monitors, and maintains HUD and Tax Credit and other regulatory occupancy compliance at the affordable housing communities under the supervision of the Senior Compliance Specialist and Director of Compliance. Key duties and responsibilities include, but may not be necessarily limited to: • Performing file audits of resident initial certifications, re-certifications and/or interim reviews; reviewing and auditing income verifications, asset verifications, lease amendments, etc., • Supporting 20-25 HumanGood Affordable Housing ("HGAH") locations in Northern California, • Serving as the primary resource when staff needs a response to questions on policy, procedures, rules and regulations., • Enhancing HGAH’s compliance capacity via clear communication, information sharing, and mentoring of HGAH staff., • Assisting Administrators in preparing for Management Reviews., • Developing and maintaining relationships with HumanGood corporate office executives and support staff, Affordable Housing Administrators, persons from regulatory agencies, housing authorities, contractors, vendors, consultants, and city government officials. What you need to be successful in this role: • 5+ years' of current or prior rental housing management experience, • Current or recent Affordable Housing experience, • Knowledge of HUD & Tax Credit occupancy regulations, • File auding expertise and experience working with investors, auditors, and regulatory program agencies, • Property management principles and practices knowledge with particular reference to government-assisted or other assisted housing operations and administration, • HUD & Tax Credit Occupancy Specialist or equivalent certification; COS or similar certification is preferred or the ability to obtain certification within 6 months of hire., • Outstanding organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills., • Valid driver’s license ** Annual salary range for this position is $82,000 - $85,000 (DOE). ** This is a HYBRID role (50% travel), visiting communities in the greater San Francisco area.
