Job Description We are seeking an Import Customs Broker to support our growing import operations based in Rahway, NJ (on-site). This role manages end-to-end customs clearance, classification, and compliance for U.S. imports, while also leveraging Python skills to automate reports, improve data accuracy, and streamline brokerage workflows. Experience is not the key filter. We are open to candidates who are newly licensed (or recently passed the CBP exam) and ready to grow fast. If you’re sharp in Excel, know the basics of Python, and have an “automate everything” mentality, we want to talk to you Key Responsibilities Customs Brokerage & Import Ops • Prepare and process import documentation including customs entries, bills of lading, commercial invoices, packing lists, permits, and ISF where applicable. • Ensure accurate and timely submission of entries to U.S. Customs & Border Protection (CBP) and relevant Partner Government Agencies (FDA, USDA, EPA, etc.). • Classify goods using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS); validate duty rates, special programs, and admissibility requirements. • Strong Excel skills (formulas, pivots, lookups; comfortable with large datasets)., • Basic Python knowledge (comfortable with simple scripts, working with CSV/Excel data, and learning new functions/libraries). • High attention to detail, willingness to ask questions, and ability to learn quickly., • Clear communication and customer-service mindset., • Strong initiative and enthusiasm for improving/automating workflows., • Coordinate with clients, carriers, and government agencies to resolve holds, exams, or post-entry issues quickly. • Maintain current knowledge of customs regulations, trade updates, and brokerage best practices. • Support compliance audits, recordkeeping, post-summary corrections, and reporting. • Deliver standout customer service: provide shipment status, explain clearance steps, and advise on documentation requirements.
