Responsibilities: Handle general care tasks such as bathing, drying, brushing, nails, teeth, and sanitary trim Assist in restraining animals for the groomers Keep records of animal treatments and other updates Engage in play activities and exercise with the animals Maintain a clean and healthy environment Check-in and check-out animals; engage with owners and provide feedback Communicate to the Groomer frequently throughout the day with any updates on dog behaviors, incidents, going on break, and tasks Other duties as assigned Qualifications: Previous experience in animal care or other related fields Passion to help and treat animals Ability to interact with animals in a calm, non-threatening manner Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment Ability to work in a team environment Proven ability to follow instructions and learn new things Good oral communication skills, time management, and responsible Please note the Compensation is for Bathers only (not including the tips given by the groomer's discretion)! This is part-time work in Manhattan on weekend mornings, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Start time is 5:30am. Daily hours will vary from 5 - 7 hours per day. Pay is $20 per hour. Note: this is HEAVY work. It's all wet towels. The job involves emptying bags of wet towels into a large laundry bin, loading washing machines, transferring towels from washers to dryers. We are a non profit that brings book clubs and writing workshops to incarcerated women at Rikers Island. We are looking for someone to intern with us in exchange for school credit. Your main tasks would be keeping a calendar, answering e mails, scheduling etc. eventually we would love if you could join us at Rikers Island and help host the meetings with us. We are just starting out but we are very passionate about the work we do and ideally we would want someone who also feels passionately about this kind of work. We are seeking a licensed Physician (MD or DO) to serve as a Medical Consultant on an as-needed, independent contractor basis (1099). The Medical Consultant will provide clinical oversight and consultation related to medical and developmental concerns and will perform physical examinations when required to support Early Intervention eligibility determinations and service planning.
