Ensure effective communications with internal and external teams, departments, customers and vendors to achieve Operations’ goals. Hire, train, develop, and manage performance of departmental staff to attain a cohesive, motivated team. Primary Responsibilities (Essential Functions): • Maintain operational documentation to include reports, licenses, procedures, order requirements, etc., • Supervise segregation, consolidation, and packaging of hazardous, non-hazardous, and universal wastes, and off-spec materials for storage., • Communicate with shipping/receiving when waste is ready for shipment., • Supervise and communicate with other sites and corporate teams to coordinate work., • Monitor order status from order receipt to settlement on each order, • Supervise processing of received wastes, including communications with customer to provide updates and/or resolve issues or clarify requirements., • Primary responsibility for creating and maintaining operational reports., • Responsible for purchasing for the facilities including generating purchase orders, work orders, and review of invoicing for services provided., • Support compliance with all federal, state and local permit requirements., • Communicate to management facility needs, difficulties and changes in operations., • Affect positive change and continuous improvement., • Oversee production including managing a team of technicians. Schedule and distribute work to team. Instruct, provide feedback, direct and assist team in performance of job duties to complete work in accordance with regulatory requirements and Clean Earth policies, practices and procedures., • Train technicians and operators on-the-job in equipment operation, service line processes and necessary paperwork. Provide training and coaching to team members as needed., • Follow all Health & Safety/Job Safety Analysis (JSA's) procedures as outlined in Clean Earth procedures and policies, including incident reports and resolution, • Supervise fork trucks and other heavy equipment to move all materials including hazardous, non-hazardous, and universal wastes for storage / loading and off-loading., • Maintain records for DOT and State officials as assigned., • Performs published Contingency Plan Emergency Response procedures and acts as the Alternate Emergency Coordinator if appointed., • Perform other reasonably related tasks as assigned by management.Qualifications, • High school diploma or GED, • 2+ years’ experience with packaging, transporting and/or storing hazardous waste, • Experience and knowledge regarding RCRA and DOT Regulations, • Willingness and ability to wear company-provided personal protective equipment including eye protection, foot protection, hard hat, Tyvek coveralls, and respirator, • Bachelor’s Degree in Science or environmental field, • 40-hour HAZWOPER course completion, • Supervisory or team leadership experience, • Basic skills using Microsoft Office software including Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint, • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills in English Required training may include, but not limited to, the Clean Earth training program designed to ensure that facility personnel are able to respond effectively to emergencies by familiarizing them with emergency procedures, emergency equipment, and emergency systems, including, where applicable: • Procedures for using, inspecting, repairing, and replacing facility emergency and monitoring equipment;, • Communications or alarm systems;, • Response to fires or explosions;, • Response to ground-water contamination incidents; and, emergency response training pursuant to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations 29 CFR 1910.120. • DOT Packaging and UN Rating Training, • Clean Earth Waste Diversion, • Clean Earth JSA and PPE Training, • DOT CSA Training, • Spill Response, • Formaldehyde Training, • Emergency Action Plan, • Bloodborne Pathogens, • Hazard Communication, • PIT and Yard Awareness, • Acid and Cyanide Training, • PCB Ballast Identification, • Prohibited Materials, • Respiratory Protection, • Respirator Fit Test, • Incident Management Investigation and Record Keeping for Team Members, • Incident Management Investigation and Record Keeping for Management, • Manifest Discrepancy Training, • DOT Hazardous Materials Training, • PIT – Operator Evaluation Pallet Mover, Stacker, • PIT – Practical Training - Forklift, • RCRA Training, • Consolidating Flammable liquids, • 40-Hour Initial HAZWOPER, • 8-Hour HAZWOPER Refresher, • RCRA Waste Analysis Plan Additional Information Clean Earth offers competitive benefits, including health, dental and vision insurance, life insurance and disability plans, as well as a 401k with company matching.
