VA NEW YORK HARBOR HEALTHCARE SYSTEM, Manhattan campus, affiliated with NYU Grossman School of Medicine, is recruiting a full-time Psychiatrist for our PRIMARY CARE/MENTAL HEALTH INTEGRATION ("PCMHI") program. Major Duties and Responsibilities: PCMHI is VA's approach to integrating mental and behavioral health care into medical settings that are co-located and collaborative with the primary care team. PCMHI focuses on early intervention and prevention for mild-to-moderate behavioral health conditions within primary care and aids in identifying and referring veterans to specialty mental health services when necessary. PCMHI services include collocated collaborative care providers and Mental Health Collaborative Care Managers who offer ongoing support and treatment management, ensuring veterans receive appropriate care based on their needs. The role of the psychiatrist is to provide consultative support to the Primary Care Providers, including guiding PC providers in the usage of psychotropic medications as part of the implementation of VA's stepped MH care model. In addition, though remaining 100% situated in the Primary Care clinic, the psychiatrist will also carry a panel of outpatients from the Mental Health Clinic with a wide range of psychiatric disorders, providing primarily medication management. Work Schedule: Full-time-Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years). POSITION SUMMARY The Corrections Site Medical Director at Hudson County Correctional Facility responsible for overseeing the provision of medical services to inmate patients of the assigned facility consistent with current CFG clinical guidelines and community standards of care. He/ She provides the overall supervision for clinical services at the assigned site while managing and evaluating the medical program activities based on the company goals, objectives, and philosophy according to industry standards and contractual obligations. The Site Medical Director manages primary and consultative services, collaborates with subspecialists, and interfaces with hospital providers to assure timely and appropriate care for inmate patients. The Site Medical Director provides continuous quality control of health services through education, service audits, and studies. The Site Medical Director will also function as liaison between correctional officials, public agencies, and the company as part of this role. The Site Medical Director collaborates with the Health Services Administrator to ensure effective inmate patient care delivery and achievement of desired patient outcomes, while maintaining the established guidelines and fiscal responsibility. Job Description Position Summary: Hamilton-Madison House (HMH) is the leading provider of behavioral health services for New York City’s Asian community and the second largest provider in the country. HMH serves nearly 1,000 community members through a comprehensive program model that understands and incorporates the strengths of individual cultures and addresses the stigma related to mental illness. Services range from psychological services; personalized recovery-oriented services for individuals with mental illness; recovery programming for addiction in six languages and seven dialects; supportive housing for people with mental health issues; and training and internship opportunities for graduate students in social work, mental health counseling, and psychology. Our team of over 40 full-time and 16 part-time staff speak Cantonese, Mandarin, Korean, Japanese, Vietnamese, and Cambodian. HMH is hiring for a full-time Behavioral Health Clinician responsible for direct clinical work with clients in the outpatient mental health clinic, with a priority focus on those in the CONNECT program. The BH Clinician will also be responsible for coordinating and accessing care for their clients. The CONNECT program is a Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH) Demonstration Project to provide rapid access to mental health services in a more flexible and holistic way with the community and the whole person outside the clinic walls and beyond the traditional doctor/therapist-patient interaction. The position will develop community linkages to address immediate concrete needs to improve the quality of life of the people being served. The BH Clinician reports to the CONNECT Program Director. This is a clinic and field-based position, traveling to various sites in Lower Manhattan is required.
